Coming up we have a featherweight MMA rules bout between Elias Gracie (ranked 4301 p4p, 25497 weight class) and Jon Bayani Hagibis (ranked 313 p4p, 0 weight class). Buckle up people - heeeeeeeeeere we go!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the featherweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of 1 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Amsterdam, Elias Gracie! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of 0 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Hilo, Jon Bayani Hagibis! The judges for this bout are Patrick Alders, Nard Betker and Daniel Blasius.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Hagibis feints a jab promting Gracie to slip. Hagibis then demonstrates his capabilities by jabbing again. Gracie slips again and ducks right into an uppercut. Hagibis shoots in for a takedown. "Ole!" shouts Gracie as he jumps to the side. Gracie attempts a counter takedown but Hagibis avoids it well and moves away. Hagibis darts in and clinches Gracie up against the cage. Hagibis will no doubt start fighting again in a minute but for now he's just having a little rest, leaning Gracie up against the cage. Gracie is looking for a takedown. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Hagibis has Gracie pushed against the cage. Hagibis lands punches inside but they're not really causing much damage.
That's one minute gone in the round. A frustrated look appears on Hagibis's face as he tries to break the clinch. Hagibis taking a breather. Hagibis prevents the takedown attempt.

Gracie is pressed up against the cage. Hagibis has hold of a leg and is looking to drag Gracie down to the mat. Gracie avoids the attempt though and has circled away. We're back to striking at a distance. Hagibis shoots in for a takedown but Gracie shows good takedown defense. Elias Gracie has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Jon Bayani Hagibis. Hagibis with a poor takedown so Gracie counters with a double leg into guard. Good agility.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Gracie trying to pass the guard but can't manage it just yet. Gracie drops back looking for a leg! Hagibis is in trouble here! The fighters roll with the hold and Hagibis manages to kick Gracie off! Gracie jumps back into Hagibis's guard. Hagibis trying to control the position here. Gracie thinks about going for a leg but decides against it, in order to maintain the position. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Gracie drops back looking for a leg! Hagibis is in trouble here! The fighters roll with the hold and Hagibis manages to kick Gracie off! Gracie jumps back into Hagibis's guard. Gracie stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Hagibis swivels though and keeps the full guard.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Gracie drops back, looking for a kneebar! Hagibis looks panicked! The fighters roll across the mat, one looking to finish, one looking to escape. Hagibis looks to have wriggled free... Yes, he's got his leg free and he's dived into side control! Good work there from Hagibis! Gracie manages to get back to half guard. Gracie actively working from the bottom here. Gracie looking for submissions from an awkward position here. Gracie actively working from the bottom here. Hagibis tries to stand and escape but Gracie is controlling the position. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Gracie is trying to get back to full guard. Gracie is looking to sinch up a guillotine here but Hagibis pulls his head out easily. Gracie looking for submissions from an awkward position here.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Gracie looking to work for a kimura from the bottom. Gracie works his way to full guard. Good work. Hagibis trying to control but Gracie is working from the bottom. Gracie has managed to work for a loose triangle. I think Hagibis should be able to defend this one pretty easily though. Oh, Gracie has tightened it up now! Hagibis should have reacted faster there - he's in big trouble and yes, he's tapped out! This one is all over!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 4:45 of round 1, we have a winner by way of Submission (Triangle). Elias Gracie! Elias Gracie decided to go for the less than humble approach in his post fight interview, telling everyone how he is going to conquer the world. The crowd seemed to like it when really that sort of approach could have gone either way.
