Coming up we have a bantamweight MMA rules bout between Koa Bouddi (ranked 1643 p4p, 1578 weight class) and Sonny Barella (ranked 127 p4p, 124 weight class). Barella has chosen Prova del 9 as his entrance music. Both fighters look fresh as a daisy as they make their way towards the cage.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the bantamweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 24 - 13 - 1, fighting out of London, Koa Bouddi!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 17 - 24 - 1, fighting out of Montreal, Sonny Barella!
The judges for this bout are Colin Fray, Micheangelo Fripello and Roger Salmon.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Barella misses with a lunging right hand
and Bouddi counters with a right hand to the body.
Both fighters are looking to counter, which isn't making for the most exciting fight in the world.
Barella defending well as Bouddi loads up on a big left hand.
Barella wants to counter the offense by Bouddi and move into the clinch position.

We can't be sure of the tactics at this early stage but we have heard that Barella has been working on his takedowns a lot in the buildup to the fight and we can only assume he's going to look to take this to the mat.

As Bouddi backs off Barella throws a huge counter combo but Bouddi manages to avoid it all.

Barella tries to close the distance and clinch up against the cage but Bouddi paws at him with a jab and circles away.

Barella shoots in for a takedown. He's persisting with it as Bouddi sprawls well. Bouddi wins this battle and keeps the fight standing. Barella gets slowly back to his feet.

Barella closes the distance and gets a double leg, slamming Bouddi to the mat! Bouddi manages to get full guard.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
A big thud reverberates around the arena there as Barella accidentally thumps the mat. Hopefully he's not broken his hand.

Barella postures up to throw the ground and pound strikes but they don't connect.
Barella looking to sit in guard and control but Bouddi gets the butterfly guard and sweeps. He's now in the guard on the top.

Barella has his foot on Bouddi's thigh. He's trying to push off and get in position for a triangle, I think. Bouddi works his way back into a safe position though.

A few boos can be heard. I'm sure they will multiply if the fighters don't pick up the pace.

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

That was a close second round but I would say that Koa Bouddi will probably get the nod.

Well I reckon that's a shut out for Bouddi, winning every round. Will the judges agree? They are the ones who matter, even if they are often depressingly incompetent. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
