Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Luka Sorenson (ranked 1291 p4p, 1260 weight class) and Zakir Jumayev (ranked 163 p4p, 160 weight class). Jumayev is bouncing up and down as he enters the arena, backed by Side to Side. The crowd giving both fighters a great reception on their way into the arena. That's good to see.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 7 - 4 - 0, fighting out of Amsterdam, Luka Sorenson!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 26 - 21 - 0, fighting out of St Petersburg, Zakir Jumayev!
The judges for this bout are Paul Gruel, Ryoma Takatsuka and Colin Fray.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Jumayev takes a jab right on the nose. That must have hurt but he shrugs his shoulders and looks to return the favor.
Sorenson closes the distance looking to clinch
letting Jumayev counter with a right hand.
Luka Sorenson seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.

Jumayev throws a hard body shot but it just misses.
Sorenson drives through and clinches with Jumayev against the cage.

Jumayev's corner calls for him to break the clinch, which he does.
Both fighters circling a little - Sorenson finishes the exchange with a kick to the body.

Jumayev takes one on the chin but keeps coming.
Sorenson comes forward and lands a shot to the body, then darts back out of range.
Sorenson fakes a couple of low kicks, before throwing one on the third attempt. It connects and Jumayev has to reset his feet before getting ready to engage.

Jumayev looks shocked there as he takes a right hand to the temple.
Jumayev has been spending a lot of time sparring his boxing in the run up to the fight, trying to sharpen up those hands and look for a knockout.
Sorenson fails with an attempt to clinch.

Sorenson closes the distance and pushes Jumayev back into the cage.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!

Sorenson throws out a loose jab but Jumayev uses good head movement to avoid it.

Jumayev takes a solid shot to the body. That one hurt him but he's trying not to show it.
Sorenson misses with a kick to the body
and Jumayev counters with a shot to the ribs. That looked like it hurt.
Sorenson lands a pitter patter jab to the forehead of his opponent.
Sorenson tries to clinch up but Jumayev circles away and keeps his distance.
Jumayev connects with a lovely jab that went straight through the gap between Sorenson's hands.
A telegraphed right hand from Sorenson misses the target.

A decent looking cross lands there for Sorenson.

This has been an exciting period of action!
Sorenson lands with a kick to the temple. Jumayev shrugs as if to say "is that all you've got?"

Jumayev takes a jab on the nose there. A little bit of blood seems to be coming out. Hopefully that won't affect his breathing.
Sorenson lands a leg kick. The shin dug right into the meat of the thigh.
Sorenson closes the distance and clinches.
Jumayev misses with a punch to the body.
Both guys are working to get underhooks.
Jumayev can't find room to land a body shot as Sorenson controls the action.
Sorenson pushes Jumayev back against the cage and lands a hook to the side of the head.
Sorenson lands with a right to the head.
Jumayev is still on wobbly legs! Can Sorenson finish him?

Jumayev tries a body shot but Sorenson blocks it.
Sorenson dips a shoulder and cracks Jumayev with a mighty uppercut! Jumayev falls back against the cage and Sorenson unloads with a barrage of strikes! Jumayev is completely out with his eyes open, only supported by the cage! Save him ref! Eventually the ref decides to do his job and jumps in - Sorenson screams abuse at the incompetent official before going over to celebrate with his corner. Brutal stuff!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 4:42 of round 1, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Luka Sorenson!
After the fight, Luka Sorenson was humble in paying tribute to his opponent but made it clear he wants to go on to bigger and better things. It seemed to go down well with the crowd who cheered him loudly.
