Coming up we have a bantamweight MMA rules bout between Gunner Gibbs (ranked 1694 p4p, 3049 weight class) and Samuel Prescott (ranked 122 p4p, 189 weight class). Samuel Prescott will no doubt be looking to use his reach advantage to good effect.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, for the bantamweight championship of the world! Introducing the champion to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of 5 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Helsinki, Gunner Gibbs! And introducing the challenger to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of 4 - 0 - 0, fighting out of London, Samuel Prescott! The judges for this bout are Richard Clark, Andrew Berry and Donald Grub.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Prescott fakes high and shoots in for a takedown but Gibbs avoids it really well and circles away. Prescott closes the distance and scores a nice trip takedown into half guard. Gibbs did well to prevent Prescott getting side control. Gibbs tries to strike from the bottom but it doesn't land. Gibbs is looking for a sweep. Prescott is wise to his cunning plan and keeps the top position. Gibbs manages to escape and get back to his feet! Gibbs dives in and scores a takedown into Prescott's guard. Gibbs might be looking to lock onto one of his opponent's long limbs for a submission, whilst we're on the ground. Gibbs throws a big right hand that misses. Prescott escapes his hips to the side and looks to be working for an armbar. Gibbs gives him a little smile and shakes his head. No chance. Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show! Gibbs looking to pass the guard.
That's one minute gone in the round. Prescott working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. Gibbs doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. Gibbs manages to throw the legs off his shoulder and he's back into guard - no problem. Gibbs content to strike from guard, landing some decent shots. Gibbs cracks Prescott with a solid left hand. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Gibbs scoring with punches to the head and body. Gibbs won't allow Prescott to sweep him here. Prescott is pulling down on Gibbs's head. It's preventing any offense from Gibbs, at least for the moment. Gibbs wants to control from the top but Prescott keeps moving. Gibbs landing with the ground and pound.

That's four minutes gone in the round. The crowd are getting on the fighters' backs, as the pace has dropped off in the last minute or so. Prescott shoots in looking for a takedown. Gibbs tries to sprawl out of it but Prescott keeps driving through. The fighters are pinned against the cage. Gibbs manages to get underhooks and after a bit of a struggle, circles away and we're back to standing. Prescott fails with a takedown attempt from distance. Gunner Gibbs has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Samuel Prescott. Gibbs closes the distance and after a bit of a stuggle, scores a takedown into Prescott's guard. Gibbs makes a bit of distance and scores with some ground and pound, still in guard. Gibbs scores with a decent looking elbow strike. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Prescott not looking particularly offensive just at the moment.
Gibbs works over Prescott with some ground and pound from guard. The crowd thankful this round is nearly over. Gibbs lands a couple of digs. Gibbs stopping the sweep attempt from Prescott. Gibbs with a flurry of punches that miss. Gibbs throws a big right hand that misses. And that is the end of the round. The fighters go back to their corners.

Gibbs gets the takedown into side control. Gibbs looks up at the clock and then as Prescott takes his cue and looks up at the clock too, Gibbs smacks him right in the chops with a big elbow! How rude!
Gibbs creates a bit of distance and throws down some hard shots. Gibbs moving around in side mount but really he's just happy to control for now. Gibbs scoring with punches and elbows. Gunner Gibbs overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far. Prescott is looking to reverse the position. Gibbs is looking to take a break and control but Prescott is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Gibbs landing a few strikes.
That's one minute gone in the round. Prescott struggling a bit here. Prescott is looking for a sweep. Prescott is working to avoid the ground and pound but Gibbs connects with a decent elbow. Gibbs is putting a hurting on Prescott here, landing some big shots from side control.
Prescott is rocked! Prescott tries to bench press Gibbs off him but Gibbs keeps the position. Gibbs lands a decent elbow from side control. Prescott is trying to control Gibbs's posture but Gibbs avoids it. Prescott is looking for a sweep. Gibbs working the head and body with strikes.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Gibbs scores with punches from side control. Prescott manages to work his way to half guard, despite Gibbs's best efforts. Gibbs seems content to maintain position for now, rather than mounting any offense. Gibbs is looking to stall here but Prescott recovers full guard. Prescott trying to keep a closed guard but Gibbs is proving a slippery customer.
Gibbs is working the ground and pound from guard. He might want to try advancing position though to get more of an impact.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Gibbs distracts Prescott with his right hand and drops a big elbow with his other arm. Gibbs scoring with some ground and pound. Gibbs scoring with punches to the head and body. Gibbs is working Prescott over from the guard. He should look to pass the guard and do a little more damage with these strikes. Gibbs stands up over Prescott, holding his feet. He dives back in and lands a decent shot to the head. Gibbs postures up and lands some nice ground and pound. Prescott is still in real trouble! Can Gibbs finish him? Gibbs landing some decent shots from guard. Gibbs passes Prescott's left leg - he's now in half guard. Prescott trying to control here.
Prescott seems to have recovered his senses. The referee walks around the fighters to get a better view of the action. Gibbs lands a nice short elbow. Prescott wants to control but Gibbs is keeping busy and won't allow it. We get told so often about how wrestlers don't like to be on their backs. Let's see if Prescott can do anything to dispel that myth.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Gibbs landing with strikes to the body and head, softening up his opponent. Gibbs is really dominating this fight. Is there anything that Prescott can do to turn this around? Gibbs is keeping good posture, landing some ground and pound. Prescott trying to control here.
Gibbs scoring with strikes to the body and head. This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff! Gibbs looks towards his corner to check for any instructions. The corner give him nothing to work with, so he cracks Prescott with a short hammerfist. I guess that's as good as any advice he could get in this position. Prescott looking for submissions from an awkward position here. Gibbs scores with a couple of good hammerfists. Gibbs scores with a big shot! Prescott's head bounced off the canvas with a huge thud! More strikes land and the referee has jumped in to save Prescott! He was hurt real bad - good stoppage!
