Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Marques Roy (ranked 304 p4p, 1334 weight class) and Fishbone Jones (ranked 45 p4p, 170 weight class). Marques Roy has the edge in experience - let's see if he can make that count tonight.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 5 rounds, for the light heavyweight championship of the world! Introducing the champion to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of 19 - 5 - 0, fighting out of Helsinki, Marques Roy! And introducing the challenger to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of 7 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Fishbone Jones! The judges for this bout are Fedor Mirinova, Dmitry Maklakov and Aleksei Zolotukhin.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Roy misses with a takedown and Roy takes a counter punch right on the button for his troubles. Roy misses with a takedown attempt. He shot from a bit too far out. A swing and a miss from Jones. Jones misses with a looping right. Roy fails with the takedown and Jones counters with a stiff right hand. That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Marques Roy. That's going to take a lot out of him. Jones keeps the fight standing with a nice sprawl. Jones looks like he wants to counter punch here. Roy with a poor takedown and Jones counters with a nice uppercut. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Roy closes the distance and looks for a trip takedown... aaaand he's got it - Roy lands in his opponent's guard. We could do with one of the fighters taking the initiative a bit more on the ground - they're both waiting to capitalize on a mistake. Jones tries to land a sweep but no joy.
That's one minute gone in the round. Roy throws a big elbow that misses. Roy stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Jones swivels though and keeps the full guard. Roy works over Jones with some ground and pound from guard. Roy lands a couple of decent looking shots. Jones avoiding any damage from the ground and pound. Roy stopping the sweep attempt from Jones. Jones is trying to control the position but Roy postures up. Roy with a couple of shots to the head there. Not particularly brutal. Jones is looking for a guillotine. You can't force these things though and Roy defends well. Roy trying to control the position from guard on top but Jones is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Jones controls Roy momentarily but Roy frees himself. Roy missing there with some ground and pound from the guard. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Jones avoiding any damage from the ground and pound. Roy throwing strikes from guard but Jones blocks nicely. Roy in full guard, throwing the ground and pound. No damage this time.
The referee has decided to stand the fighters back up, so we'll restart on the feet. Jones ducks down and throws a hook to the body. Roy dives in for a single leg takedown but Jones sprawls and the fighters end up clinched against the cage.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Roy is trying to pull guard but Jones turns him against the cage and we stay in the clinch. Jones tries a shoulder strike but it doesn't do any damage. Jones manages to break the clinch.
Jones moves into the clinch. Roy jumps guard but Jones stands there with Roy around his waist. Roy gives up and drops back to his feet. We remain in the clinch.

Roy doesn't succeed with the takedown and Jones counters with a stiff right hand. Jones scores with a nice strike. Nice sprawl there from Jones as Roy shoots in. Roy looks to have improved his striking defense since last time we saw him fight. Roy throws a loose over hand right and dives in with a double leg takedown. Jones tries to sprawl but it's too late and the fighters hit the mat. Roy is in Jones's guard. Roy prevents Jones from getting back to his feet. Roy working from the guard for now, landing some ground and pound. Roy with a flurry of punches that miss. The fighters are starting to get a bit slippery now, which will make submissions a bit more difficult. Roy is sitting in guard, working some ground and pound.
That's four minutes gone in the round. This has been an exciting period of action! Roy prevents Jones from getting back to his feet. Jones is using up a lot of energy trying to get back to his feet. Perhaps he should improve his position first. Roy throws a strike but Jones rolls with it and manages to sweep. Now he's in guard on top. Jones wants to stand but Roy is controlling his posture from full guard. Jones stands up from Roy's guard - Jones perhaps looking for a knockout. Marques Roy seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. Roy shoots in and scores a nice double leg takedown into half guard. And that is the end of the round. The fighters go back to their corners.
Fishbone Jones dominated that round. The minute break is over - no more time for sponges and pep talks - back to the action! Roy shoots and misses and Roy takes a counter punch right on the button for his troubles. Jones tries to land with a swinging hook to the body but Roy was well out of range. Poor timing from Jones. Horrible takedown attempt by Roy or perhaps it was just good defense by Jones, which made it look bad. Jones looks like he wants to counter punch here. Roy looks for a takedown but Jones sprawls well. That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Marques Roy. That's going to take a lot out of him. Roy shoots in but Jones avoids the takedown attempt easily. Roy shoots in and bounces Jones off the cage to secure the takedown into guard. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Jones has his feet on Roy's hips. He pushes off and gets to his feet. Nice work. Jones has been the more effective fighter overall so far. Roy looks for a takedown but Jones sprawls well.

Fishbone Jones seems to be getting the better of the standup. Jones misses with a leg kick and Roy counters with a nice double leg into half guard. Roy with the ground and pound but Jones uses the opportunity to regain guard. Marques Roy overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far. Roy trying to control but Jones is working from the bottom. Roy looking to sit in guard and control but Jones gets the butterfly guard and sweeps. He's now in the guard on the top. Jones working some ground and pound from guard but it's not doing any damage. Jones must be cautious of submissions here, given that his opponent has the superior Jiu Jitsu. Roy wants to sweep but no luck. Jones looking to sit in guard and control but Roy gets the butterfly guard and sweeps. He's now in the guard on the top.

That was a close second round but I would say that Marques Roy will probably get the nod. That's the end of the round. The referee orders the cornermen out of the cage so we can get back down to business. Jones keeping a good distance there, avoiding the body shot.

Roy tries for a takedown but Jones circles away easily and Jones counters with a crisp hook to the side of the head. Roy staying out of range there. Jones wriggles free and stands up. A good leg kick by Jones. Roy manages to get an easy takedown there - catching Jones on his heels. He'll look to pass Jones's guard now, I'm sure. Jones has scooted to the edge of the canvas and used the cage to get back to his feet. Roy has stuck on his opponent and is forcing him back against the cage. Roy tries to pull guard but Jones holds him up against the cage and eventually Roy drops back down to his feet.
Roy has Jones pressed up against the cage and is working for takedown. Jones manages to improve position though and keeps the fight standing.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Jones is working Roy over against the cage. Both fighters are breathing heavily. Roy jumps guard but his hands slip and he falls flat on his back. Well, he's made himself look a right mug there, as Jones walks away with a smile on his face. Roy gets slowly back to his feet and shakes his head. Jones misses the shot to the body. Roy throws a looping left and ducks down for a takedown. He's got his arms around Jones's waist but Jones gets an underhook and avoids the takedown by throwing Roy off to one side. Roy has his takedown stuffed and Jones counters nicely by changing levels and landing a hook to the body. Roy looks shocked there as he takes a right hand to the temple. Jones lands a slapping body shot.
Jones jabs at Roy's body. Roy throws an overhand right that lands on Jones's shoulder, as Jones tries to avoid the shot. Jones looked like he wanted to counter with a punch but didn't throw it. Roy uses good head movement to avoid the hook from Jones. Roy shoots in looking for a double leg takedown. Jones defends it nicely.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Nice body kick from Jones. Roy defending well as Jones loads up on a big left hand. Jones fakes a jab and then connects with a hook. Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd. Roy blocks a jab. Jones throws a hook to the body but it doesn't connect.

and Roy counters with a shoot takedown into half guard. Jones has managed to escape just enough to sneak back to his feet but Roy is on him like a limpet, forcing Jones back against the cage. Jones breaks the clinch and we return to the middle of the mat. The crowd applaud the fighters' efforts here as the round comes to an end. Jones fakes low and throws an overhand right that catches Roy on the side of the head. Roy changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. Jones tries to avoid it but Roy manages to keep hold of a leg and drag Jones to the ground. Jones escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet. Jones is clearly trying to counter these attacks from Roy with a body shot. Roy shoots in but doesn't get the takedown and Jones counters with a quick right hand to the jaw.
Roy is rocked! And that is the end of the round. The fighters go back to their corners.
Fishbone Jones really dominated that round. The referee calls time. The cornermen exit stage left and we're back to business. Roy gets his takedown attempt stuffed easily and Jones counters with a beautiful right hand that knocks Roy out cold! What a finish! Jones is going crazy, running around the mat, summersaulting off the corner posts and screaming into the cameras. Something tells me he's pretty happy!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 0:05 of round 4, we have a winner by way of KO (Punch). Fishbone Jones! Fishbone Jones is the new light heavyweight champion! Fishbone Jones really struggled to get his t-shirt on before his hand was raised. Making sure that Ma Balls Is Hot Clothing logo gets some air time is pretty tricky when you're all sweaty.
