Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between mark The Hammer (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Joe Hayes (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Hayes has chosen Sandman Theme as his entrance music. This should be a great matchup!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, mark The Hammer! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
2 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Joe Hayes! The judges for this bout are Stewart Dunkirk, Frank Dennis and Cecil Peabody.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! The Hammer fails with a takedown attempt. The Hammer lands with a hook. Hayes tried to avoid it but it clipped the top of his head. The Hammer lands with an overhand left. The Hammer misses with a two punch combination.
The Hammer shoots in for a takedown but doesn't get it. The Hammer shoots in with a takedown attempt and he has Hayes pinned against the cage. Hayes gets the underhooks and manages to circle away. That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for mark The Hammer. That's going to take a lot out of him. The Hammer throws a right and a left that both miss. Hayes tries to clinch but The Hammer is having none of it. The Hammer fails to land with a series of punches.
The Hammer will need to tighten up his combinations if he doesn't want to gas himself out, swinging at thin air.
Hayes shoots in for a takedown and gets it. Let's see what he's got on the mat.
That's one minute gone in the round. Hayes not doing a lot at the moment. He'll have to show some more aggression or the fight will get stood up. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. The Hammer throws a couple of shots from the bottom but they don't land. Both fighters really going for it on the ground here! The Hammer doesn't do any damage with a couple of strikes from the bottom.
Hayes sitting in guard, not really doing much. Let's hope that Hayes has the urge to step up the pace any second now because for the last 15 or 20 seconds he's just been holding on tight.

Despite being in the dominant position, Joe Hayes just isn't active enough and the referee decides to stand the fighters back up. A swing and a miss from The Hammer. Hayes keeping a good distance there, avoiding the body shot.
Hayes fails with the takedown and The Hammer counters with a three punch combination, finished off with a leg kick. Nice work. The Hammer is breathing heavily. The Hammer misses with the combination.
No joy there for The Hammer, who threw a few shots but didn't land.
The Hammer tries to land with a swinging hook to the body but Hayes was well out of range. Poor timing from The Hammer. Hayes shoots in for a takedown but The Hammer shows good takedown defense. The Hammer shoots in but doesn't get the takedown and Hayes counters with a nice double leg into guard. Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd. Hayes is pushing down on The Hammer's leg trying to pass to half guard. The Hammer is fighting to maintain full guard but Hayes has managed to sneak the leg through.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Hayes is looking to pass the guard... He's managed it - he's now in full mount! Hayes content just to control the position here. I looks like Hayes might be adopting somewhat of a lay and pray gameplan here, which I'm sure won't go down too well with the paying fans in attendance... Or the ring announcers come to think of it. The Hammer throwing punches from his back but nothing is landing. Hayes controlling from mount.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Hayes stands up from the dominant position, so we're back on the feet. The Hammer gets his takedown attempt stuffed easily and Hayes counters with a nice double leg into side control. The Hammer won't be happy with that. Hayes remains in side control and seems content to stay there. It's a versatile position from which he can work both strikes and submissions, whilst maintaining that control, so maybe he'll sit here for a while.

That was a long way out but the feint bought him enough time to close the distance and complete the takedown. Now we'll play guard for a bit and see who can get the better of that position. As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action. Hayes controlling from the guard. I say controlling but really, he's stalling. The Hammer fights it but they end up in guard. The Hammer keeping moving, preventing Hayes from controlling successfully. Hayes wants to pass the guard but The Hammer is keeping the position. Hayes looking to control the position here, rather than advance. The Hammer trying to strike off his back.

He's got his hands clasped together - this could be trouble! No, The Hammer has managed to free his arm - good work. Hayes with a momentary lay and pray from half guard. The Hammer moves into full guard.

The Hammer manages to improve position though and keeps the fight standing. The Hammer wants a takedown but no success here.

That's four minutes gone in the round. Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless. Hayes tucks in and makes sure he doesn't lose the dominant position.

Joe Hayes is fighting for a decision here - he's started to take the cautious approach. The Hammer will have to put a bit more behind his punches if he's going to do any damage from this position.
The Hammer can't keep his opponent in guard - Hayes advances to half guard, no doubt looking to mount. Hayes is just sitting in half guard, waiting for something to happen. Hayes's corner are shouting for him to control the position and he seems happy to oblige. mark The Hammer has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here!
