Coming up we have a featherweight MMA rules bout between Ching Chong (ranked 3629 p4p, 25089 weight class) and Xi Daerji (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Ching Chong looks tired to me. Hopefully he has got enough gas left in the tank to put in a good performance.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the featherweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of 9 - 25 - 0, fighting out of New York, Ching Chong! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of 9 - 26 - 1, fighting out of Tokyo, Xi Daerji! The judges for this bout are Reed Andrews, Lou da Vinci and David Schapiro.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Daerji feints and then dives in with a takedown. That was a long way out but the feint bought him enough time to close the distance and complete the takedown. Now we'll play guard for a bit and see who can get the better of that position. Daerji is looking to stand up but Chong won't let him. Chong looking for a guillotine here but Daerji defends easily.
Chong might be looking to lock onto one of his opponent's long limbs for a submission, whilst we're on the ground. Chong working for submissions but it's allowed Daerji to get to half guard.
Chong is breathing heavily. Daerji is working for a submission of some sort.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Daerji content to control rather than advance. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Daerji seems to be taking a bit of a break to think of his next move. He lands a short punch in the meantime.

Daerji looks over to his corner - he wants some instructions but his corner are not responding. Chong looking to work for a kimura from the bottom. The fighters are starting to perspire pretty heavily. Daerji controlling the action here.
That's two minutes gone in the round. There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action. Chong tries to get to full guard but Daerji has control of the leg. Daerji moves into side control, avoiding a weak kimura attempt from Chong. Chong is sneaking out the side here. He's bucked Daerji off and has taken his back! Daerji is in a bad position with Chong working for a choke. Daerji manages to spin nicely into guard and the danger is over for the moment. Daerji not doing a lot at the moment. He'll have to show some more aggression or the fight will get stood up.

Chong throws his legs up looking to secure a triangle. Oh, that looks pretty tight, I gotta say! Daerji escapes and throws Chong's legs to the side, diving into side control! Daerji decides to stand back up. Daerji looking to score a takedown here. Chong is defending well but Daerji drives through and ends up in Chong's guard. The crowd thankful this round is nearly over. Daerji throwing strikes from guard but Chong blocks nicely. Daerji gets to his feet and steps away from his opponent. And that is the end of the round. The fighters go back to their corners.

Daerji goes for an armbar but Chong turns quickly into his guard - lovely anticipation from Chong. Chong tries to free his leg and advance position but Daerji is retaining full guard. Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.
That's one minute gone in the round. Chong is working hard here to advance position. Daerji escapes his hips to the side and looks to be working for an armbar. Chong gives him a little smile and shakes his head. No chance. Daerji keeping moving, preventing Chong from controlling successfully. Chong won't allow Daerji to sweep him here. Daerji is looking for a guillotine. You can't force these things though and Chong defends well. Daerji is trying to control the position from the bottom.
Chong drops back, looking for a kneebar! Daerji looks panicked! The fighters roll across the mat, one looking to finish, one looking to escape. Daerji looks to have wriggled free... Yes, he's got his leg free and he's dived into side control! Good work there from Daerji!
That's two minutes gone in the round. Chong tries to get back to half guard but can't. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Daerji postures up a little and throws a couple of hammerfists but they don't connect properly.
Daerji tries to land with some ground and pound but misses. Chong defending against the ground and pound. Daerji misses with an attempted head punch from side control. You can see the frustration on Chong's face as Daerji controls the position. Chong tries to slip a leg under to move to half guard but Daerji presses down on the leg and jumps into full mount! Xi Daerji has got the better of the ground game so far.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Chong is wriggling around trying to escape.
Chong is bucking up trying to escape but Daerji cracks him with another couple of good strikes. Daerji connects with a couple of good shots from mount.

That's four minutes gone in the round. Daerji looking for the choke but no joy. Chong is trapped and Daerji is scoring with shots to the head and body. Daerji controlling well, preventing Chong from escaping the position.
A bit of a pause in the action here. Daerji controlling the positon. Daerji looking for the RNC. Daerji has the superior BJJ but he's also working some ground strikes into his gameplan. The crowd thankful this round is nearly over. Daerji has his hand under the chin of his opponent looking for the choke. He's nearly got it! This one could be all over! But no, Chong has freed his hand and lives to survive another well, another couple of seconds at least!
You can see the frustration on Chong's face He knows he is in trouble unless he improves his position sooner rather than later.

Xi Daerji showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards. Well, the break between rounds is over. Let's get back to the scrappin! This is the final round!
Daerji closes the distance and after a bit of a stuggle, scores a takedown into Chong's guard. Chong looking to sweep using the butterfly guard but Daerji puts pay to that idea as he passes nicely into half guard. Chong is staying active underneath Daerji, who seems content to just control the action from this position. Daerji has freed up his trapped foot and advances to mount. Daerji is still in mount, landing shots to his trapped opponent. Chong can't stay in a position like this for much longer.

Daerji is staying calm and holding on to the back position, whilst working on a rear naked choke. Chong is defending well though. Daerji let's go of the attempt for now. What can Chong do to escape this position? He's going to have to figure it out pretty quick if he wants to stay in the fight!
Ching Chong has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here! Chong covering up well and avoiding damage. Daerji is hanging on to Chong's back as he tries to escape.

Even with his hooks in, Daerji manages to miss with strikes from the back. Chong tries to escape the position - he's now mounted. Is that better or worse? Hard to tell! Chong tries to reverse the position but Daerji maintains control. Daerji is in the full mount, landing strikes. Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out! Chong is looking to get to half guard. Daerji has his opponent pinned against the cage, landing some nasty ground and pound that is really making a bit of a mess out of Chong's face.
And that's the end of the fight! Xi Daerji comfortably won the final round on my scorecard. Well Daerji has outworked and out performed his opponent in all aspects of the game today. He was simply too good and the decision should be no more than a formality. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
