Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Nico Lange (ranked 1908 p4p, 1875 weight class) and Amari Howell (ranked 200 p4p, 198 weight class). Amari Howell struggled to make weight for this fight. He only made it down to 157.7lbs at the first attempt and had to take the additional two hours to make the official bout weight. Let's see how much it's taken out of him. Amari Howell is staring across the cage at his opponent, tweaking his nipples.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 8 - 2 - 0, fighting out of St Petersburg, Amari Howell!
The judges for this bout are Aafke Stam, Nard Betker and Paulsen Ambrosius.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Howell scores with a nice takedown into half guard. Let's see what he's got on the ground.
Lange looking to work for a kimura from the bottom.
Howell looks towards his corner to check for any instructions. The corner give him nothing to work with, so he cracks Lange with a short hammerfist. I guess that's as good as any advice he could get in this position.
The two fighters exchange a few words. I couldn't hear what they were saying but maybe it's more fun if you make it up yourself. Howell connects with a nice short shot to Lange's temple.

Howell has the superior BJJ but he's also working some ground strikes into his gameplan.

Howell looks up at the clock and then as Lange takes his cue and looks up at the clock too, Howell smacks him right in the chops with a big elbow! How rude!

Lange takes a big shot right to the temple there but he's taken it well.
Howell works a knee to the body and follows up with a nice elbow to the head.
Howell scores with a big shot from side control... and another... and another! Oh Lange is done here - save him referee! More strikes land and eventually the ref does step in and Howell can finally stop beating on his defenseless opponent!
