Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Reino Ruttu (ranked 259 p4p, 527 weight class) and Maman Suraman (ranked 42 p4p, 69 weight class). Over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of 20 - 12 - 0, fighting out of Helsinki, Reino Ruttu! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of 12 - 8 - 0, fighting out of St Petersburg, Maman Suraman! The judges for this bout are Saam Ante, Patrick Alders and Albert Achterberg.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Suraman misses with a takedown attempt - Ruttu sprawls well and throws a nice strike on the way out which just misses. Ruttu jinks towards his opponent looking like he wants to counter with a mid kick but doesn't commit. Ruttu tests Suraman's chin there with a solid looking shot. Ruttu uses good footwork to get in and out, landing a nice hook. A low kick from Ruttu misses so Suraman counters with a double leg into guard. Good agility. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Suraman trying to pass the guard but can't manage it just yet. Suraman throwing shots from guard but he's hitting more mat than opponent. Suraman has the superior BJJ but he's also working some ground strikes into his gameplan. That's two minutes gone in the round. Ruttu looking for submissions off his back. Suraman is thinking about going for an arm triangle but he can't free his leg.
Suraman landing with strikes to the body and head, softening up his opponent. Suraman works his foot free and advances to mount. Suraman takes a little breather and maintains the position. The referee will be looking for him to stay active from such a dominant position though.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Ruttu is trying desperately to improve position. Ruttu gets back to half guard. Ruttu is trying to maintain the position but Suraman is very close to passing his half guard. Ruttu tries to get to full guard but Suraman has control of the leg. Suraman working some ground and pound from close in. He's looking to maintain this position and strike for a while by the looks of things... although he'll probably advance to full mount in a minute now I've said that. Suraman is thwarting Ruttu's attempts to control the position. Suraman is nestled in close to Ruttu, controlling him well. He's worked in a nice elbow to the side of the head as well, for good measure. Suraman prevents Ruttu from improving his position. Suraman is working for a kimura but Ruttu is defending it quite comfortably.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Suraman has freed up his trapped foot and advances to mount. Ruttu is in a horrible position here. Suraman smacks him with another shot as he tries to escape the position.
Suraman has his opponent pinned against the cage, landing some nasty ground and pound that is really making a bit of a mess out of Ruttu's face.
The crowd thankful this round is nearly over. Suraman controlling his opponent. Ruttu wants to hold on but Suraman pushes him away. And that is the end of the round. The fighters go back to their corners.
Maman Suraman dominated that round. The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare each other down, ready to get back to the action. Ruttu throws a hook but Suraman blocks it. Suraman throws a big counter head kick but Ruttu avoids it with no problem. Ruttu misses with a straight right. Suraman tries for a takedown but Ruttu circles away easily and Suraman takes a counter punch right on the button for his troubles. Suraman looking to shoot here. But no, Ruttu has escaped beautifully and is now on top in side control! Oh, that's unlucky for Suraman but great work by Ruttu. You can see the frustration on Suraman's face, being in this tough position on the bottom. Suraman throws his opponent off and manages to get back to his feet! Nicely done! We've been told by Ruttu's head coaches at Jorzi GYM that he's been working on his takedown defense in preparation for this fight.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Suraman with a lazy takedown attempt and Ruttu counters with a nice uppercut. That kick from Ruttu tenderised Suraman's leg. Suraman is trying to keep his angry face on. Ruttu throws a body kick despite being completely out of range and Suraman counters with a driving takedown into guard. Nice work there by Suraman. Ruttu is wriggling around but Suraman manages to pass to half guard.

The crowd are loving this. Great action here. Suraman connects with a couple of good shots from mount.
Suraman has been the more effective fighter overall so far. Suraman avoids the attempt from Ruttu to control. Ruttu on his back here. We all know that wrestlers don't like being on their back so let's see if Ruttu tries to get out of the position. Suraman controlling the position easily from mount. Ruttu tries to lock up and control but Suraman gives him a forearm to the face and pushes him away. The crowd growing excited in anticipation of a finish here! Right on cue, Suraman cracks his opponent with a massive right hand that draws loud cheers!

Maman Suraman showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards. Well, the break between rounds is over. Let's get back to the scrappin! And we move into the final round! The sound of bone on bone echoes around the arena as Ruttu checks a leg kick. Ruttu looked to counter that last move with a leg kick but didn't pull the trigger. Suraman takes a thudding leg kick, right into the meat of the thigh. Ruttu throws an off balance right hand
and Suraman counters with a nice double leg into half guard. Suraman throwing shots but Ruttu is blocking nicely. Suraman wants to lay and pray for a moment but Ruttu keeps working. Suraman is sneakily working for an arm triangle but Ruttu sees it coming and defends easily. Maman Suraman has got the better of the ground game so far. The referee calls for the fighters to work.

He's hopped off into side control, looking to tighten the submission... is it going to work? He's given up a good position looking for it. Ruttu looks OK. Oh, I spoke too soon, he's out! That must have been tighter than I thought! Excellent work there by Suraman! Submission of the night perhaps?
