Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Horus Anubis (ranked 3361 p4p, 5035 weight class) and Chuck Bliss (ranked 386 p4p, 472 weight class). Over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of 4 - 13 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Horus Anubis! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of 2 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Chuck Bliss! The judges for this bout are Steve Smith, Gregory Folan and Ian Loll.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Bliss takes a really solid shot there but just smiles back and shrugs his shoulders.
Bliss's coach down at Ragnarok\'s Gym was telling us pre-fight that they have been working on Bliss's balance. Obviously they view that as a key factor in the outcome of this fight. Bliss misses with an uppercut. Bliss steps to the side to avoid the strikes from Anubis. Bliss appears to be waiting to throw a counter punch to the body. Bliss loads up on a big right hand but Anubis slips the punch. Bliss looks to score with a jab to the body but Anubis is just out of range. Anubis is looking for a counter combo. Bliss throws a hook to the body but it doesn't connect.
Anubis drops down looking for a counter takedown but Bliss sprawls and moves away. Bliss uses some good footwork to avoid the body shot by Anubis.
Anubis shoots in for a takedown. He's persisting with it as Bliss sprawls well. Bliss wins this battle and keeps the fight standing. Anubis gets slowly back to his feet. Bliss throws out a counter right but Anubis avoids it with no problem. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Bliss keeping a good distance there, avoiding the body shot.
Bliss throws a combination but it was largely blocked by Anubis. Bliss on the wrong end of a vicious looking body shot.
That's one minute gone in the round. Anubis looks to land a left hand but Bliss moved out of range nicely. Anubis misses the jab. Bliss scores with a straight right hand, right through his opponent's guard. Bliss throws a body shot but no joy. Anubis throws a monster uppercut resembling something out of street fighter but it doesn't land. Anubis takes one on the chin but keeps coming.
Bliss is pinned up against the cage taking some big shots here. The referee is looking closely deciding whether he should stop the fight.
Bliss throws a nice looking combination but Anubis bobs and weaves to avoid any damage. Bliss rushes in with a sloppy looking punch
and Anubis counters with a shoot takedown into half guard. We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out! Bliss has no desire to be mounted, so is trying to control. Anubis is working away from the top position though. Anubis controlling the pace.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Ground and pound from Anubis. Bliss really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Anubis. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out. Anubis not doing much here.
Bliss wants to control but Anubis is keeping busy.
Bliss is not content to let Anubis control the position. Still in half guard, Anubis seems content to control. Bliss controlling the position well. We get told so often about how wrestlers don't like to be on their backs. Let's see if Bliss can do anything to dispel that myth.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Bliss tries to get to full guard but Anubis has control of the leg. We've had a lack of effective grappling in the last minute or so, which could well see a referee standup. Anubis takes a deep breath and rests his weight momentarily on top of his opponent, to control the position.
The referee decides to stand the fighters back up. Anubis showing good head movement there, avoiding the strikes from Bliss.
Bliss takes a body punch that cleary hurt but he's trying not to show any weakness.
That's four minutes gone in the round. My god... these two guys really need to pick up the pace or everyone will leave to go get a beer. Bliss displays some good footwork, moving neatly out of range as Anubis throws out the jab. Bliss steps in looking to clinch after the strikes miss from Anubis. Anubis pushing out the jab but it's not landing. Anubis throws a hook to the body but it doesn't connect.
Bliss is trying to avoid his opponent's strikes and get into the clinch. Anubis feints a straight left to the body, then turns around with a flashy move and hits Blisss jaw with a dramatic spinning back fist! Jab by Anubis. Anubis scores with a jab to the jaw. Anubis closes the distance and after a bit of a stuggle, scores a takedown into Bliss's guard. Anubis stops Bliss from standing up. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Anubis sneaks a leg through and gets to half guard. That was like a knife through butter how easily he passed Bliss's guard. Anubis wants to control but Bliss is keeping him busy. Bliss has no desire to be mounted, so is trying to control. Anubis is working away from the top position though.
That's five minutes gone in the round. Bliss avoiding damage under a succession of punches from Anubis. Anubis trying to control the action but Bliss is working from the bottom. Bliss pushes Anubis off and gets back to his feet. Anubis closes the distance and clinches up, looking for a takedown. He shifts his weight and gets a nice trip into half guard. Bliss is doing well to avoid being mounted. He's controlling the position at the moment. Bliss is trying to stand up here but Anubis is controlling him well. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Bliss trying to control here.
The two fighters exchange a few words. I couldn't hear what they were saying but maybe it's more fun if you make it up yourself. Anubis connects with a nice short shot to Bliss's temple.
That's six minutes gone in the round. Anubis seems to be working for a kimura but Bliss defends the submission attempt. Bliss controlling the position well. Anubis is trying a forearm choke… I don't think that's going to do much at this level of the game.
Anubis thows a huge punch but Bliss dodges it nicely.

Bliss controlling the leg, holding on to half guard. Anubis stops Bliss from getting back to his feet.
Bliss won't allow Anubis to pass to mount. Anubis with a momentary lay and pray from half guard.
The referee has stepped in and called for a break in the action. We'll restart on the feet. Anubis shoots in looking for a takedown. Bliss tries to sprawl out of it but Anubis keeps driving through. The fighters are pinned against the cage. Bliss manages to get underhooks and after a bit of a struggle, circles away and we're back to standing.
That's eight minutes gone in the round. The crowd are showing their displeasure at the lack of action as loud boos ring out around the arena. Bliss instigates a clinch. A head punch blocked on the inside by Anubis. Bliss misses with a shot to the kidneys.
Bliss swings away with an uppercut that misses.

That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Horus Anubis. That's going to take a lot out of him. Bliss misses with a punch to the body.

Bliss digs a right hand underneath Anubis's ribcage. Anubis let out a lung full of air as it connected. The crowd thankful this round is nearly over. Bliss throws a punch but it's blocked by Anubis. That was a close round but I would say that Horus Anubis will probably get the nod. OK. That's time! The bell goes and we're back to the action. Anubis looks frustrated there after his takedown attempt is stuffed easily. Bliss falls off balance throwing a combination
and Anubis connects with a straight left hand counter down the middle. Bliss swings wildly with a right hand that was never going to find it's target. Anubis lunges at Bliss with a hook that half lands and is half blocked by Bliss's hand. Nice uppercut there from Anubis. Bliss is the aggressor but that punch slipped nicely by Anubis. Horus Anubis seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. Anubis ducks under an overhand right and circles away with a smile on his face. Anubis closes the distance and after a bit of a stuggle, scores a takedown into Bliss's guard. Bliss being controlled here, momentarily. Anubis wants to control from the top but Bliss keeps moving. That's two minutes gone in the round. This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff! Bliss keeping his head moving to avoid the ground and pound. Anubis is trying to work for a kimura but Bliss is defending well.
Horus Anubis overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far. Anubis is working for a kimura but Bliss is defending it quite comfortably.

Bliss is trying to maintain the position but Anubis is very close to passing his half guard. Bliss holds on for dear life, maintaining half guard for now. Anubis is trying to control. Bliss wants to improve his position but can't escape this time.
The ref stands the fighters back up due to a lack of activity. Bliss keeps the fight standing with a nice sprawl.
That's four minutes gone in the round. The crowd are getting on the fighters' backs, as the pace has dropped off in the last minute or so. Bliss darts in trying to clinch and Anubis counters with a quick right hand to the jaw. Anubis shoots in looking for a double leg takedown. Bliss defends it nicely. That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Horus Anubis. That's going to take a lot out of him. Anubis lands a vicious shot with the stealth of a sniper and the strength of a viper. Are vipers that strong? I can think of lots of things that are stronger than a viper - not many rhyme with sniper though.

That's five minutes gone in the round. Bliss throws a right hand that Anubis ducks under and follows up with a left that Anubis also avoids with ease. Anubis staying out of range there. Anubis throws a shot to the body.
Chuck Bliss is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs. Bliss uses decent footwork to sidestep a right hand from Anubis. Anubis changes levels and drives through with a really nice takedown into side control. Bliss looks really pissed at himself for not defending that better. Bliss throws Anubis to one side and escapes! Anubis swings and misses with a hook to the body.
Anubis bobs and weaves well there to avoid the strikes. Anubis feinted with a counter takedown. Anubis is trying to pull guard but Bliss has him pressed against the cage. I was talking to Anubis's coach per-fight and he was telling me that they'd been working on the clinch in the runup to this fight. Bliss gets underhooks to prevent Anubis's takedown attempt.

Bliss lands a body punch - he's looking to wear down Anubis. The pace slowing considerably in the clinch, as Bliss takes a break from that fighting nonsense to think about the finer things in life. Anubis tries a shoulder strike but it doesn't do any damage. Bliss working aggressively here.

Anubis scores with a nice takedown into half guard. Let's see what he's got on the ground. Bliss manages to create a bit of space in order to work his way back to his feet. Anubis keeps hold of his opponent and drives him back against the cage. The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here. Bliss tried to land a shot to the body but connects with Anubis's elbow. Bliss slowing the pace effectively.

Horrible takedown attempt by Anubis or perhaps it was just good defense by Bliss, which made it look bad. Bliss looked like he wanted to counter with a punch but didn't throw it. Both fighters are breathing heavily. Anubis slips under a jab from Bliss. Anubis takes a jab right on the nose. That must have hurt but he shrugs his shoulders and looks to return the favor. Bliss wings a very wild body shot but it does the job and lands to the midsection. Anubis stuns Bliss with a nice body shot, before stepping back out of range. Anubis moves away from the strike by Bliss. Anubis avoids the body shot from Bliss.

And that's the end of the fight! Chuck Bliss comfortably won the final round on my scorecard. I think Bliss has won this one but let's see whether the judges agree with me. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
