Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Yosuke Yoshida (ranked 4362 p4p, 4378 weight class) and Blake Wise (ranked 446 p4p, 447 weight class). Man, I cannot wait for this one!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Hilo, Yosuke Yoshida!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Amsterdam, Blake Wise!
The judges for this bout are Chris Downing, Wesley Smith and George Francis.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Wise throws a combination but comes up with nothing but fresh air.
Yoshida moves into range and lands a nice leg kick.
Yoshida misses with a hook.
Wise pulls out of a head kick attempt.
Wise throws a sloppy head kick and Yoshida moves out of range easily.
Yoshida tries to counter by clinching up but Wise breaks away and moves out of range.
Yoshida scores with a crisp jab that stopped Wise in his tracks.
Yoshida connects with a hook to the side of his opponent's head.
Wise closes the distance and clinches.
Yoshida is looking to control Wise's arms but Wise gets an underhook and turns him. Now Yoshida has his back to the cage.
Wise tries to pull guard but can't drag his opponent to the mat. Yoshida just stands there and leans against the cage.

Yoshida stalling in the clinch but Wise improves position.

Wise has Yoshida pressed against the cage, preventing Yoshida from circling away and getting back to striking at range.

Wise blocks a couple of punches on the inside.

Yoshida struggles to land a body shot inside as Wise controls his hands.
Yoshida goes for a body shot but it's blocked.
Yoshida throws a blind hook that connects with the side of Wises head.

Wise has Yoshida pressed up against the cage. He's trying to work for a single leg takedown. Wise pulls back from the cage and twists to the side, sending Yoshida tumbling to the mat - Wise dives into Yoshida's guard.

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Wise stands up over Yoshida, holding his feet. He dives back in and lands a decent shot to the head.
Wise sneaks a leg through and gets to half guard. That was like a knife through butter how easily he passed Yoshida's guard.
Wise gets to his feet - back to striking we go!
Wise fakes a strike and closes the distance, dragging Yoshida to the ground. Wise is now in Yoshida's guard.
This has been an exciting period of action!

Wise sitting in guard, not really doing much.
Wise's corner are shouting for him to control the position and he seems happy to oblige.
Yoshida looking for submissions from the bottom but instead Wise passes into side control.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight.
Wise is putting a hurting on Yoshida here, landing some big shots from side control.
Yoshida is letting Wise control him for a moment.
It looks like Wise might be adopting somewhat of a lay and pray gameplan here, which I'm sure won't go down too well with the paying fans in attendance... Or the ring announcers come to think of it.
And that is the end of the round. The fighters go back to their corners.

That's time! Yoshida's corner gives him a slap on the ass as he gets ready to fight.
Wise instigates a clinch.
Wise drops to a knee looking for a takedown but Yoshida gets the underhooks and prevents it.
Yoshida wants to get back to striking at distance but Wise won't allow it.
With the fighters clinched against the cage, Yoshida creates a bit of distance for himself and scores with a nice uppercut.

Yoshida goes for a body shot but it's blocked.
Yoshida struggles to land a body shot inside as Wise controls his hands.

We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Yoshida lands a right hand.
Wise is trying to work for a single leg takedown but Yoshida pulls him back up using the underhooks.

Yoshida misses with a hook. Wise ducked under it nicely.
Yoshida lunges in with swinging rights and lefts but Wise circles away quickly and effectively.
Wise tries to counter by closing the distance.
Yoshida tries to land with a swinging hook to the body but Wise was well out of range. Poor timing from Yoshida.
Yoshida gets caught napping as Wise dives in and scores a takedown. Yoshida manages to retain guard.
Yoshida looks to be in better condition than last time we saw him fight. Obviously he's been working hard on his cardio.
Wise not doing a lot at the moment. He'll have to show some more aggression or the fight will get stood up.
Yoshida is looking to sweep but instead, Wise has passed into half guard.
Wise is thwarting Yoshida's attempts to control the position.

Wise slows the pace down in half guard.
Wise lands strikes from half guard.
Wise is just sitting in half guard, waiting for something to happen.
Yoshida on his back here. We all know that wrestlers don't like being on their back so let's see if Yoshida tries to get out of the position.

Yoshida knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Wise on the ground.
Wise is continuing to stall.
Wise scores with a couple of good hammerfists.
Wise in half guard on the top. He's looking for a kimura... He's got it locked and he's managed to free his trapped foot. Yoshida tries to escape but it's on too tight and he has to tap! Great BJJ skills there from Wise!
