Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Okoro Igwe (ranked 828 p4p, 737 weight class) and Cole Steel (ranked 110 p4p, 99 weight class). Cole Steel has the better chin. Will he look to stand and bang today?

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of 11 - 10 - 0, fighting out of New York, Okoro Igwe! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of 11 - 6 - 1, fighting out of London, Cole Steel! The judges for this bout are George Francis, Chris Downing and Daniel Franklin.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Steel falls off balance throwing a combination
and Igwe counters with a right hand to the body. Igwe thows a left - swing and a miss! Igwe throws a monster uppercut resembling something out of street fighter but it doesn't land. Igwe throws an off balance right hand
and Steel counters nicely by changing levels and landing a hook to the body. Igwe moves out of range of the strikes. Igwe moves away from the strike by Steel. Steel uses some good footwork to avoid the body shot by Igwe.
Cole Steel seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. Steel scores with a straight right hand, right through his opponent's guard. Steel has his front leg slapped to the side - a nice low kick landing there from Igwe. Steel throws an off balance right hand
and Igwe makes him pay by landing a nice hook to the body before moving out of range. We've been hearing reports that Igwe has been drilling takedowns in recent sessions so let's see if that has an impact on the result of this fight. Steel misses with an uppercut. Igwe throws a big shot that misses. Igwe moves out of range of the strikes. Igwe feints and then dives in with a takedown. That was a long way out but the feint bought him enough time to close the distance and complete the takedown. Now we'll play guard for a bit and see who can get the better of that position. Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd. Steel is trying to keep Igwe in close.

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Igwe postures up to throw the ground and pound strikes but they don't connect. A big thud reverberates around the arena there as Igwe accidentally thumps the mat. Hopefully he's not broken his hand. Igwe trying to control the position from guard on top but Steel is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can. Igwe throwing elbows and punches but not connecting, as Steel works some decent striking defense from the bottom. Steel not looking particularly offensive just at the moment.
Our spies down at at BKC Gym inform us that Steel has really been working on his submissions in the buildup to this fight. Will it pay off? Steel controlling the position. Steel is trying to control the position but Igwe postures up. Steel is working actively off his back, looking to secure an arm or perhaps work for a triangle. Igwe with a flurry of punches that miss. Igwe throwing strikes but missing.

Igwe unloads with some shots from mount but Steel bucks and avoids them well.

Steel tries to hold on but Igwe pushes him away. Steel might have to switch it up a bit here because his efforts to control Igwe haven't been going to plan, at least at the current moment in time. Igwe throws a chopping leg kick but Steel manages to avoid taking any serious damage. Steel scores with a jab. Igwe acknowledges it with a nod of the head. A jab from Igwe misses. It seemed like Steel was going to counter with the hook but didn't fully commit to it. Igwe throws a half hearted mid kick. Steel throws out a counter right but Igwe avoids it with no problem. Igwe displays some good footwork, moving neatly out of range as Steel throws out the jab. An attempted straight right counter from Igwe misses the target. Steel scores with a nice one two combo and darts back out of range to avoid anything coming in the opposite direction. Igwe misses with a hook. Steel ducked under it nicely. Steel looked like he wanted to counter with a punch but didn't throw it. Steel works his jab well there, keeping his opponent at a distance. Nice takedown defense from Igwe. No joy for Steel on that attempt. A jab lands there for Igwe. Steel misses with a telegraphed body shot
and Igwe connects with a straight left hand counter down the middle. A big right from Igwe misses. And an attempted straight right on the counter from Steel! But no joy. The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so! Steel uses good footwork to get in and out and land a nice right hand before Igwe has time to react. Boom, another hit is landed. "You're gunna get knocked out" taunts Igwe, as that shot connected.

enabling Igwe to counter with a crisp jab. Igwe misses with a low kick. Steel throws a body shot but no joy. Igwe moves out of range as Steel strikes. Steel throws an ugly left hook that misses
and Steel takes a counter punch right on the button for his troubles. Steel throws a lazy right hand but Igwe sees it coming a mile off and sidesteps it easily. Igwe shoots in for a takedown. He's persisting with it as Steel sprawls well. Steel wins this battle and keeps the fight standing. Igwe gets slowly back to his feet.

Igwe moves away from the strike by Steel. Decent striking displayed by Steel there. Igwe shoots in and gets a takedown into Steel's guard. Igwe preventing the sweep. That was a close second round but I would say that Okoro Igwe will probably get the nod. That's time! Back to the action! This is the final round! Steel's corner calls for a 1-2. Steel obliges with the 1 part as he scores the single shot and moves back out of range. Igwe swings wildly with a right hand that was never going to find it's target. Steel staying out of range there. Igwe closes the distance but Steel moves to the side enabling Steel to counter with a crisp jab. Igwe shoots in looking for a takedown. Steel tries to sprawl out of it but Igwe keeps driving through. The fighters are pinned against the cage. Steel manages to get underhooks and after a bit of a struggle, circles away and we're back to standing. Steel ducks right into an uppercut from Igwe. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Boom, another hit is landed. "You're gunna get knocked out" taunts Igwe, as that shot connected.

Steel jumps to his feet and is applauded loudly by the crowd!
