Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Yize Li (ranked 2747 p4p, 3197 weight class) and Derrick Dawson (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Yize Li has the better chin. Will he look to stand and bang today?

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 2 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Yize Li!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 2 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Derrick Dawson!
The judges for this bout are Gwen Towbar, Stewart Dunkirk and Frank Dennis.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Li is trying hard to land a takedown here. Dawson sprawls well and keeps this one on the feet.
Dawson keeps his opponent at a distance with a nice jab.
Li shoots in from a long way out. He's driving through with the takedown attempt and he eventually gets it, landing in Dawson's guard.
Dawson wants to get back to his feet but Li passes into half guard.
Dawson really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Li. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.

Li has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission.

The two fighters exchange a few words. I couldn't hear what they were saying but maybe it's more fun if you make it up yourself. Li connects with a nice short shot to Dawson's temple.
We've been hearing that Li has been drilling a lot of ground and pound in training, so let's see if he get the finish.
We get told so often about how wrestlers don't like to be on their backs. Let's see if Dawson can do anything to dispel that myth.

Dawson has hold of Li's hands but Li slips his arm to the side and lands an elbow.
Dawson is still in real trouble! Can Li finish him?
Nice strikes from Li there.
Li will need to keep those long limbs tucked in whilst he's on the ground, to prevent any submissions.

And that is the end of the round. The fighters go back to their corners.
Yize Li dominated that round.
The fighters get back to their feet, the hooter sounds and we're back to the action!
Nice sprawl there from Dawson as Li shoots in.
Dawson seems to have recovered his senses.
Li bobs and weaves into range and then changes levels and scores with a nice takedown into side control.
Li wants to control but Dawson is keeping him busy.

Li cracks Dawson with a big right hand but Dawson just smiles back at him and invites him to have another go.
Li tries to move to mount but Dawson blocks the move with his legs.
Dawson is looking to slip a leg under and get half guard but Li is one step ahead and moves to full mount!
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Li lands an elbow that was bordering on illegal but the referee lets it go with a warning.

Dawson is bucking up trying to escape but Li cracks him with another couple of good strikes.
A big strike lands for Li! That's really hurt Dawson and he's turned his back - Li keeps firing away and the ref dives in to stop the fight! Li jumps to his feet to celebrate the victory!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 1:33 of round 2, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Yize Li!
