Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 1 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Hilo, Jorah Mormont!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, David Butt!
The judges for this bout are Chris Saunders, Jeff Smith and Josh West.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Butt scores a trip takedown into side control. Nice.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Butt sitting in side control, looking to soften his opponent up with elbows and hammerfists but Mormont is avoiding damage well and looking to escape the position.
Butt in side control lands a nice looking series of punches and elbows.
You can see the frustration on Mormont's face, being in this tough position on the bottom.
A bit of a lull in the action. I'm sure it will pick up again soon... even if the ref has to physically pick them up and put them back on their feet.
Mormont is looking for a sweep.
Mormont on his back here. We all know that wrestlers don't like being on their back so let's see if Mormont tries to get out of the position.
Mormont wants to control but Butt postures up.
Mormont seems a little lost for a moment, as Butt dominates the positioning.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Butt grinds an elbow into Mormont's temple.

Butt is a painfully thin specimen of a man. You do wonder whether a good body kick would snap him clean in two.
Butt slows the pace down.
Mormont is looking to work his way out of this bad position but Butt is controlling him well.
The referee has stepped in and called for a break in the action. We'll restart on the feet.
Mormont shoots in looking for a double leg takedown. Butt defends it nicely.

The crowd are getting on the fighters' backs, as the pace has dropped off in the last minute or so.
Butt throws a head kick that misses.
Mormont closes the distance and presses his opponent up against the cage.
Mormont definitely looks more muscular than last time we saw him fight.
Mormont has Butt pressed up against the cage. He's trying to work for a single leg takedown. Mormont pulls back from the cage and twists to the side, sending Butt tumbling to the mat - Mormont dives into Butt's guard.
Butt has a closed guard, preventing anything of note from happening. Perhaps he's looking to stall.
Mormont won't allow Butt to sweep him here.

The referee claps his hands together and tells the fighters to work.

The ref stands the fighters back up due to a lack of activity.
Mormont closes the distance and pushes Butt back into the cage.
Mormont is stalling here. The referee will be looking to step in if he doesn't pick up the pace.

It looks like David Butt has been cut.

Mormont's corner calls for him to break the clinch, which he does.
Mormont tries to clinch there but Butt circles away.
Butt throws a combination that misses
and Mormont counters with a shoot takedown. Butt fights it but they end up in guard.
Mormont is sitting in close to Butt's body. Butt has gone for a guillotine from the bottom. Oh damn, that looks pretty tight! Mormont is panicking - it looks like this one could be all over! Yes, Mormont is tapping! That was a very nice submission by Butt.
