Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of 4 - 3 - 0, fighting out of St Petersburg, Umar Hagmedov! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of 1 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Daddy Dana! The judges for this bout are Fedor Mirinova, Ivan Kurochkin and Viktor Lagutenko.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! A jab from Dana misses. Hagmedov with a lazy takedown attempt and Dana counters with a quick right hand to the jaw. Dana lands a two punch combo.
Hagmedov with poor footwork there. He got himself in a bit of a tangle, enabling Dana to score with a decent uppercut. Hagmedov misses with a looping left. Hagmedov misses with a straight right. Dana lands a nice shot to the body.
Dana moves into range and connects with a jab. Dana throws a jab to the body, straight down the pipe. Boom. That sent Hagmedov stumbling backwards but he manages to regain his composure quickly. Dana misses with a looping left. Hagmedov takes a punch to the jaw and another one to the bread basket. The crowd are loving this. Great action here. Hagmedov closes this distance looking for a takedown but Dana circles away. Dana staying out of range there. Dana swinging wildly here.
Dana moves into range and throws a lovely three punch combination. Daddy Dana is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs.
That's one minute gone in the round. Dana feints a jab promting Hagmedov to slip. Dana then demonstrates his capabilities by jabbing again. Hagmedov slips again and ducks right into an uppercut. Dana drops Hagmedov with a beautiful combination! Hagmedov stares up at his opponent, who ushers him back to his feet - Dana is looking for the KO!
Hagmedov is rocked! Dana feints and then winds up with a huge right hand that connects perfectly and sends Hagmedov sprawling to the canvas! Hagmedov rolls over backwards and springs off the cage and manages to regain his footing - how acrobatic! Oh, he's still wobbly - can Dana finish him?!
Oh Hagmedov is still all over the place! His legs are completely gone! Will he be able to recover?!! The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here. Dana looks to land a combination but Hagmedov avoids it well. Dana uses good footwork to get in and out and land a nice right hand before Hagmedov has time to react. Hagmedov seems to have got his legs back now. Dana throws a body kick that misses and Hagmedov counters with a shoot takedown into half guard. Dana really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Hagmedov. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out. Hagmedov working Dana over with strikes. Hagmedov stops Dana from getting back to his feet.
Hagmedov scores with a couple of good hammerfists. Hagmedov is trying to control the action in half guard but Dana is working away on the bottom, looking perhaps to get back to full guard.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Ground and pound from Hagmedov. Hagmedov lands with an elbow from half guard - that looked like it hurt. Dana is trying to stand up here but Hagmedov is controlling him well. Dana wants to control but Hagmedov is keeping busy and won't allow it. Hagmedov wants to lay and pray for a moment but Dana keeps working. Dana is trying to escape back to his feet but Hagmedov uses the scramble to pass into side control.
Dana looks to move to half guard but instead Hagmedov has passed into mount! Damn! Dana in a bad spot here, taking shots to the head.
It looks like Daddy Dana has been cut.
That's three minutes gone in the round. The crowd growing excited in anticipation of a finish here! Right on cue, Hagmedov cracks his opponent with a massive right hand that draws loud cheers!
Hagmedov prevents Dana from getting the reversal. Hagmedov is in the full mount, landing strikes. Dana is looking to improve his position but Hagmedov isn't that keen on the idea. Hagmedov wants to control the pace but Dana is squirming around nicely. Hagmedov prevents Dana from getting the reversal. Dana wants to get back to his feet.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Dana is writhing around trying to get back to his feet. Hagmedov scoring with some good ground and pound from mount here. Will he manage to finish Dana?
Hagmedov landing strikes from the mount. Hagmedov lands a couple of good shots and Dana has given up his back, trying to escape the position!
That's four minutes gone in the round. Can Dana hold on?! Hagmedov is landing more strikes to his hapless foe.
Dana is rocked! The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show! Hagmedov biding his time, controlling Dana. Dana is still in real trouble! Can Hagmedov finish him? Hagmedov tries to keep control of the position but Dana is staying busy. Hagmedov is landing big shots and Dana is squirming looking to escape! He can't escape though and the ref jumps in to end the fight!
