PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Trevor Johns (ranked 2420 p4p, 2663 weight class) and Broken Hope (ranked 298 p4p, 316 weight class). The key to victory for Trevor Johns has got to be keeping the fight on the feet.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 2 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Trevor Johns!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 4 - 2 - 0, fighting out of London, Broken Hope!
The judges for this bout are Chris Saunders, Roger Salmon and Jeff Smith.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Johns bobs and weaves and unloads with a good uppercut.
Johns lands with a shot to the body.
Johns displays some good footwork, moving neatly out of range as Hope throws out the jab.
Broken Hope seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.

Johns scores a trip takedown into side control. Nice.
Hope has found himself in a tricky position here. He's been working his transitions in training so let's see if he can work his way out of it.

Johns tries to counter with a takedown but Hope is quick to defend against it.

The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.

You can see the frustration on Hope's face, being in this tough position on the bottom.

The crowd are loving this. Great action here.
Hope throws the left hand but Johns avoids the punch easily.
Hope looks to score with a jab to the body but Johns is just out of range.

Johns half commits to a counter takedown before pushing away, out of range.

Johns shoots in looking for a single leg takedown. Hope is trying to defend but Johns finishes it well and ends up in half guard. Let's see if he can advance position further.
Hope is looking to regain full guard. Not this time though.

Broken Hope comfortably won the final round on my scorecard.
I think Johns has won this one but let's see what the judges have to say. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
