Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Jon Jones (ranked 2228 p4p, 1397 weight class) and Matthew Griffin (ranked 265 p4p, 178 weight class). Both fighters look fresh as a daisy as they make their way towards the cage.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of 12 - 10 - 0, fighting out of London, Jon Jones! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of 11 - 7 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Matthew Griffin! The judges for this bout are John Kavanagh, Lou da Vinci and Bruno Lombardi.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Griffin misses with a hook. Jones ducked under it nicely. Jones is looking to counter the offense by Griffin and move into the clinch. Griffin keeps his opponent at a distance with a nice jab.
Jones drops down and drives through with a powerful takedown into guard. Griffin is looking to get back to his feet but can't, whilst Jones is controlling him. Griffin is working actively off his back, looking to secure an arm or perhaps work for a triangle. Griffin wants to get back to his feet but Jones is in a dominant position and won't allow it. It looks like Matthew Griffin has been cut. Griffin's coach down at Gumburcules Gym was telling us pre-fight that they have been working on Griffin's balance. Obviously they view that as a key factor in the outcome of this fight. Jones doesn't land with the attempted body shot.

That's four minutes gone in the round. Jones has double underhooks and is working for a body lock takedown. He's got it. The fighters land in half guard but Griffin regains guard immediately. Griffin has his feet on Jones's hips. He pushes off and gets to his feet. Nice work. Matthew Griffin seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here. Griffin looks to throw the jab but Jones is out of range. Griffin throws a series of punches but Jones moves out of range. Jones is trying to close the distance and clinch up, after that failed offence from Griffin. Griffin connects with a good right hand that stumbles Jones. Jones circles away out of range and recomposes himself. Matthew Griffin's cut is absolute horrible now. This looks like something out of a horror film with blood covering both fighters. Jones lands an elbow that stopped Griffin in his tracks for a moment. Jones lands an elbow inside that Griffin shrugs off.
The referee calls the doctor in to look at Matthew Griffin's cut. Oh no, the doctor has called an end to the bout!
