Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 1 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Matt Rose!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of New York, Juju Hoozki!
The judges for this bout are Dillan Fox, William Peck and Robert Douchet.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Hoozki is looking to clinch but Rose is avoiding it.
Hoozki shoots in but Rose avoids the takedown attempt easily.
Hoozki closes the distance and clinches up with Rose, looking for a takedown. Hoozki pushes Rose against the cage but Rose circles to the side and manages to break the clinch.
Rose feints and then dives in with a takedown. That was a long way out but the feint bought him enough time to close the distance and complete the takedown. Now we'll play guard for a bit and see who can get the better of that position.
Rose controls from within his opponent's guard.
Rose's ground tactics aren't going to win him many fans. Let's hope he's got fireworks for us if he gets back to his feet because he's not doing much on the ground.
Hoozki really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Rose. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Rose has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission.
Hoozki trying to keep a closed guard but Rose is proving a slippery customer.

The ref stands the fighters back up due to a lack of activity.
Rose rushes Hoozki and pushes him back against the cage in a clinch.
Rose is pushing Hoozki up against the cage, for a bit of lean and pray action. Action being used the in the loosest possible sense of the word.
Rose definitely looks more muscular than last time we saw him fight.
Rose lands a nice trip takedown into half guard.
Hoozki tries to roll over but Rose keeps him under control.

Rose is looking for an arm triangle, whilst trying to pass to side control. Hoozki doesn't seem that keen to cooperate though. No luck this time Rose.

Rose really has the hooks in deep now - there seems like no escape for Hoozki.
Rose has his opponent's back and is working for the choke.

Hoozki is very frustrated here, being controlled quite effectively by Rose.

The crowd thankful this round is nearly over.
And that is the end of the round. The fighters go back to their corners.
Matt Rose dominated that round.
The referee calls time. The cornermen exit stage left and we're back to business.
Hoozki connects with a nice looking jab.
Hoozki gets his takedown attempt stuffed easily
and Rose counters by moving into the clinch.
Rose pulls guard effortlessly.
The fighters are working up against the cage. Rose manages to wriggle his way back to his feet, so the fighters are now clinched against the cage.
Rose is really dominating this fight. Is there anything that Hoozki can do to turn this around?
Rose escapes the clinch and we're back to striking.
Rose closes the distance, clinches up and gets a nice trip takedown into side control. Very smooth.
Hoozki tries to get back to his feet but has found himself mounted instead. Damn, that's gotta suck.

You know, I was talking to some of our celebrities at ringside tonight and they were split right down the middle on who was going to win this fight.

Rose sinks in the hooks and is looking for the choke. He's got it! Hoozki taps out!
