Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Bucky Beasley (ranked 3311 p4p, 2828 weight class) and Junfeng Li (ranked 327 p4p, 292 weight class). Beasley comes to the cage accompanied by Walk. Rumors backstage are that the fighters have been paid to keep it standing but we know that would never happen in MMA!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of 4 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Bucky Beasley! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of 5 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Junfeng Li! The judges for this bout are Paul Tew, James Glass and Andrew Berry.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Nice sprawl there from Beasley as Li shoots in. Beasley fails in his attempt to clinch. Beasley shoots in for a takedown but Li shows good takedown defense. Li changes levels for a counter takedown but doesn't follow through with his attempt. Beasley moves into the clinch. Li escapes the clinch and we're back to striking.
Beasley looks for a takedown here. Will he get it? Li is fending him off so far but Beasley persists. Nope, Li circles away and we're back to standing. Beasley misses with a leg kick so Li counters with a double leg into guard. Good agility. Li wants to control from the top but Beasley keeps moving. Li connects with a couple of short punches. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Beasley looking to hit a scissor sweep but Li is one step ahead there. Li with a flurry of punches that miss. That's two minutes gone in the round. Li works over Beasley with some ground and pound from guard. Li lands a couple of decent looking shots. Li postures up and scores with a shot to the body and a follow up elbow to the head. Beasley has momentary wrist control but Li slips an elbow through the middle. Beasley is working from a closed guard but he's struggling to control his opponent. Li controls from within his opponent's guard. Li stands up over Beasley, holding his feet. He dives back in and lands a decent shot to the head. Li sitting in guard here, content to control. Li is holding a leg here, probably looking for an ankle lock - he drops back and goes for it! Beasley is in trouble! Is it all over??? No! Beasley has escaped and now he's on top!

We get told so often about how wrestlers don't like to be on their backs. Let's see if Li can do anything to dispel that myth. Li is writhing around trying to get back to his feet. Li prevents any damage by holding on tight. Li is writhing around trying to get back to his feet. Li might have to switch it up a bit here because his efforts to control Beasley haven't been going to plan, at least at the current moment in time.

A close round but Junfeng Li will probably get the nod. OK. That's time! The bell goes and we're back to the action. Beasley dives in and grabs Li's left leg, looking for a takedown. Li pushes down on Beasley's head and hops out. Beasley closes the distance and clinches up with Li, looking for a takedown. Beasley pushes Li against the cage but Li circles to the side and manages to break the clinch. Beasley throws a lazy head kick and Li counters with a shoot takedown. Beasley fights it but they end up in guard. Li engaging in some classic timewasting tactics. Beasley has momentary wrist control but Li slips an elbow through the middle. Li tries to free his leg and advance position but Beasley is retaining full guard. Li slows down the pace of the fight for a moment. He'll need to remain active if he doesn't want to see the fight stood back up. Li lands a couple of decent looking shots. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Li is stalling in the full guard. Beasley manages to sweep nicely, so he's now on top. Li manages to get himself to full guard.

Oh, it looks like he might have it! Beasley has picked Li up and slammed him! Li can't keep hold of the triangle and Beasley manages to pass to side control! The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Beasley takes a little break here. Li wants to take advantage but he is being controlled well. Li tries to work a leg under to get back to half guard but Beasley wriggles his own leg back out and remains in side control. Li is persisting with the attempt to improve his position.
That's two minutes gone in the round. The crowd are starting to boo a lack of action. Li sneaks a leg under to get back to half guard. Li controlling the position well. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Li moves his hips nicely and gets into full guard. Beasley got a little sloppy there for a moment and Li has worked his way into a loose triangle - can he finish it?! No, Beasley has managed to get both his arms back between Li's legs - danger averted. Li is working the butterfly guard. He manages to land a nice scissor sweep and is now in half guard on the top. Nice move.

The two fighters exchange a few words. I couldn't hear what they were saying but maybe it's more fun if you make it up yourself. Li connects with a nice short shot to Beasley's temple. Li is looking to take a break and control but Beasley is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom. Beasley trying to control but Li postures up.
Li looks to score some points with some ground and pound. Li has been the more effective fighter overall so far. Li seems very keen to just sit and control from half guard but Beasley does not like that idea so much and is remaining active off his back. Li looks towards his corner to check for any instructions. The corner give him nothing to work with, so he cracks Beasley with a short hammerfist. I guess that's as good as any advice he could get in this position. Li is keen to just control but Beasley is a slippery customer.

Junfeng Li showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards. The referee calls time. The cornermen exit stage left and we're back to business. Let's get this one finished - here comes the final round! Li with a poor takedown and Beasley makes him pay by landing a nice hook to the body before moving out of range. Beasley tries for a takedown but Li circles away easily so Li counters with a double leg into guard. Good agility. Beasley has his feet on Li's hips. He pushes off and gets to his feet. Nice work. Beasley gets caught flat footed, as Li shoots in with a quick takedown into guard. The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here. Beasley keeping moving, preventing Li from controlling successfully. Beasley is looking to stand up but Li isn't so interested in that idea. Li chips away with some ground and pound.
