Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Kurou Nishiyama (ranked 610 p4p, 793 weight class) and Jacob Handler (ranked 68 p4p, 86 weight class). Handler comes into a darkened arena with his song building. KEEPINITBEEFY kicks in, the lights come on and the crowd goes wild! What a showman! Jacob Handler acknowledges the crowd's support as he enters the cage.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 12 - 10 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Kurou Nishiyama!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 19 - 12 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Jacob Handler!
The judges for this bout are Saam Ante, Paulsen Ambrosius and Radbod Blank.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Nishiyama fails to land the takedown.
Nishiyama misses with a jab and misses with a cross straight after too.
Nishiyama ducks under a wild hook from Handler.
A low kick lands for Nishiyama.
Nishiyama throws a head kick that misses.
Handler lands with a nice body punch.
Handler throws a looping overhand right but Nishiyama ducks down to avoid it.
Handler blocks a leg kick.
Nishiyama looks for a takedown but Handler sprawls well.

Nishiyama closes the distance and presses his opponent up against the cage.
Handler scores with a hook to the body.
Handler blocks a couple of punches on the inside.
Handler pushes off an throws an elbow but Nishiyama leans to the side and avoids it. We're back to clinching against the cage.
Handler lands punches inside but they're not really causing much damage.

Still in the clinch, Handler scores with a nice short uppercut.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!

Nishiyama tries to pull guard but Handler won't allow it.
Handler lands a hook to the body. It's hard to tell if that hurt Nishiyama or not.

Handler gets double underhooks and manages to take the fight to the ground.

Nishiyama has a loose triangle. He'll be looking to tighten that up but Handler can see exactly what he's planning and manages to posture up and free himself.

Nishiyama had isolated an arm as going for a kimura. Handler defends it easily.

Nishiyama wants to get back to his feet but Handler is in a dominant position and won't allow it.
Nishiyama will need to keep those long limbs tucked in whilst he's on the ground, to prevent any submissions.
Nishiyama can't keep his opponent in guard - Handler advances to half guard, no doubt looking to mount.
Nishiyama is staying active underneath Handler, who seems content to just control the action from this position.
Nishiyama wants to get back to his feet.

The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!
Handler tries to pass the half guard into mount. Nishiyama knows what he's doing though and prevents the attempt.

Nishiyama has no desire to be mounted, so is trying to control. Handler is working away from the top position though.
Handler seems very keen to just sit and control from half guard but Nishiyama does not like that idea so much and is remaining active off his back.

Handler is thinking about going for an arm triangle but he can't free his leg.
Handler looks to score some points with some ground and pound.
Handler wants to control but Nishiyama is keeping him busy.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Nishiyama is looking to control Handler's leg but it's slowly edging free. Can Nishiyama avoid being mounted?
The two fighters exchange a few words. I couldn't hear what they were saying but maybe it's more fun if you make it up yourself. Handler connects with a nice short shot to Nishiyama's temple.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Handler wants to work for an arm triangle but Nishiyama is really keeping half guard well and defending the submission attempt.
Handler has the superior BJJ but he's also working some ground strikes into his gameplan.

Handler is still trying to improve position.
Nishiyama pushes Handler off looking to stand but Handler dives back in and keeps control.
Handler is thwarting Nishiyama's attempts to control the position.
Nishiyama is in trouble now - Handler has advanced to mount!
Nishiyama is in all sorts of trouble here.
Handler is still in mount, landing shots to his trapped opponent. Nishiyama can't stay in a position like this for much longer.
Handler can't quite control the action as he would like just now, as Nishiyama is looking to escape.
And that is the end of the round. The fighters go back to their corners.

Jacob Handler dominated that round.
The fighters' corners scream their final instructions, as the referee calls time. Here we go, back to the action!

Nishiyama misses with an uppercut. Handler saw that one coming.
Nishiyama shoots in for a takedown - he's clinched up with Handler but Handler pushes him off and we're back to square one.

Nishiyama looks to have improved his striking defense since last time we saw him fight.
I'm just looking down at my notes here and I see that.... oh! Handler has cracked Nishiyama with a big right, followed by a left! He's out on his feet! Handler lands another huge swinging hook and Nishiyama tumbles to the canvas! The ref dives in to save Nishiyama, before Handler can land any more shots!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 0:17 of round 2, we have a winner by way of KO (Punches). Jacob Handler!
A victorious Jacob Handler thanked his army of followers in his post fight interview, telling people to make sure they follow him on Twitter.
