Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the bantamweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 17 - 16 - 0, fighting out of St Petersburg, Otso Toivonen!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 6 - 13 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Shin Otami!
The judges for this bout are Aleksandr Martynov, Illya Tyunina and Dmitry Maklakov.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Toivonen scores with a jab to the body.
Otami gets his takedown attempt stuffed easily
and Toivonen counters with a right hand to the body.
Otami plants his feet and lands a nice head kick!
Toivonen is rocked!
Toivonen throws a quick head kick that skims the top of Otami's head.
Otami with a lazy takedown attempt
and Toivonen counters with a crisp hook to the side of the head.
Toivonen works the jab nicely.
Otami is rocked!
Otami leaves Toivonen with his face pressed against the mat as he sprawls beautifully, defending against a solid takedown attempt.
Otami tries to counter by closing the distance.
Otami is still on wobbly legs! Can Toivonen finish him?
Toivonen shoots in looking for a takedown. Otami tries to sprawl out of it but Toivonen keeps driving through. The fighters are pinned against the cage. Otami manages to get underhooks and after a bit of a struggle, circles away and we're back to standing.
Otami seems to have recovered his senses.
That's one minute gone in the round.
Toivonen scores with a jab to the head.
Toivonen lands a pitter patter jab to the forehead of his opponent.
Toivonen jabs Otami to the body, keeping him at a distance.
Toivonen connects with a body shot.
Otami shoots in but doesn't get the takedown
and Toivonen counters with a nice leg kick.
Otso Toivonen has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Shin Otami.
That's two minutes gone in the round.
Toivonen connects with a body shot that sends Otami's belly button to the back.
Toivonen gets tackled into the cage by Otami. Otami maintains the clinch.
Toivonen breaks the clinch and we're back to striking at distance.
Otami tries to clinch
and Toivonen cracks him with a counter punch right on the button.
Toivonen really does look like a pencil wearing a pair of gloves. Let's hope he has a gameplan to suit that ridiculous body shape.
Toivonen works over Otami's head and body with a nice combination.
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!
Toivonen scores with a sloppy right hand. Otami should have avoided that one.
Otami has his hands up protecting his head but a hook from Toivonen finds it's way round the side to connect with Otami's head.
Otami tries to clinch but is not successful on this occasion.
Toivonen ducks low and lands a nice hook to the body of his opponent.
That's three minutes gone in the round.
Otami doesn't react quick enough there as he takes a shot to the body.
Shin Otami seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Toivonen lands a lovely overhand right.
Toivonen scores with a sloppy punch to the body. Not much technique there but it did the business.
Toivonen cracks Otami with a big right hand that sends him crashing to the floor. Toivonen has the opportunity to follow him to the ground but instead he's beckoning Otami to stand back up!
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
Otami throws a lazy uppercut
and Toivonen counters with a huge left! Otami is in big trouble! He's backing up but Toivonen isn't giving him chance to recover. Under a barage of punches the ref has to step in to save Otami from any more damage. A dominating finish by Toivonen!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 3:32 of round 1, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Otso Toivonen!
A very excited looking Otso Toivonen made sure he remembered to thank all the fans both in the arena and on the internet. He said all the coolest people spend all day on MMA websites, which got a big reaction.
