Coming up we have a bantamweight MMA rules bout between Volodymyr Kersikov (ranked 206 p4p, 1593 weight class) and Little Bandit (ranked 15 p4p, 118 weight class). Kersikov comes to the cage accompanied by DEF LEPPARD - Pour Some Sugar On Me. These two fighters really are very evenly matched on the feet - it will be fascinating to see who can assert themselves in that aspect of the fight.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the bantamweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of 10 - 4 - 1, fighting out of New York, Volodymyr Kersikov! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of 15 - 8 - 0, fighting out of Helsinki, Little Bandit! The judges for this bout are Shigeki Fujiwara, Yuuki Gou and Yukihiro Shimada.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Kersikov throws out a loose jab but Bandit uses good head movement to avoid it. Kersikov uses decent footwork to sidestep a right hand from Bandit. Kersikov throws out a token jab with nothing on it. Bandit just misses with a punch to the body.
Kersikov keeps the fight on the outside. Bandit slips under a jab. The fighters circling - Kersikov throws out the jab but it was never going to land. Little Bandit seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. Bandit looks to score with a jab to the body but Kersikov is just out of range. Bandit looks to throw a body kick and Kersikov counters with a takedown into side control. Kersikov lands a decent elbow from side control. Kersikov is maintaining the dominant position - no doubt Bandit will start to get frustrated soon if he's not already. Bandit is trying to buck Kersikov off. Bandit tries to improve position but can't. Kersikov working the ground and pound from side control.
That's one minute gone in the round. Bandit is trying to get back to half guard. He's pushing on Kersikov's leg. He's managed it. Nice work. Bandit told us pre-fight that he has been working on his escapes in training. Let's see if he can call on some of his new skills to get back to his feet. Kersikov wants to take a breather but Bandit is having none of it. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Kersikov lands with a punch from half guard. Kersikov takes advantage of the dominant position to land a couple of big hammer fists. Kersikov is working for a kimura but Bandit is defending it quite comfortably.
Bandit looking for submissions from an awkward position here. Kersikov is keeping good posture, landing some ground and pound. Bandit looking for submissions off his back. Kersikov has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission. Kersikov looks towards his corner to check for any instructions. The corner give him nothing to work with, so he cracks Bandit with a short hammerfist. I guess that's as good as any advice he could get in this position. Bandit looking for submissions from an awkward position here.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Kersikov is scoring with some nice ground and pound from the dominant position. Kersikov is looking for a kimura but Bandit is holding onto that half guard position, so it's hard for Kersikov to get the leverage. Kersikov winds up and cracks Bandit with a swinging punch to the side of the head. Bandit is looking to sinch up a guillotine here but Kersikov pulls his head out easily. Bandit looking to work for a kimura from the bottom. Bandit actively working from the bottom here. Kersikov is nestled in close to Bandit, controlling him well. He's worked in a nice elbow to the side of the head as well, for good measure. Bandit is defending against the submission attempts here by Kersikov.

That's three minutes gone in the round. Kersikov trying to control from half guard but Bandit is working away. Bandit actively working from the bottom here. Bandit is looking to regain full guard. Not this time though. The referee walks around the fighters to get a better view of the action. Kersikov lands a nice short elbow. The referee calls for the fighters to work.
Kersikov slips a nice elbow through Bandit's hands, connecting with Bandit's forehead. Bandit looking for submissions off his back. The two fighters exchange a few words. I couldn't hear what they were saying but maybe it's more fun if you make it up yourself. Kersikov connects with a nice short shot to Bandit's temple.
Bandit is rocked! Kersikov scoring with strikes to the body and head. Bandit is still in real trouble! Can Kersikov finish him? Kersikov is nestled in close to Bandit, controlling him well. He's worked in a nice elbow to the side of the head as well, for good measure. Kersikov lands a massive shot from half guard that has rocked Bandit! More strikes land and this one is all over! Kersikov jumps to his feet and is applauded loudly by the crowd!

A very excited looking Volodymyr Kersikov made sure he remembered to thank all the fans both in the arena and on the internet. He said all the coolest people spend all day on MMA websites, which got a big reaction.
