Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 1 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Ali Nurmagomedov!
The judges for this bout are William Gold, Daniel Bishop and Sam Margolis.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Nurmagomedov gets a takedown into half guard.
Payne really does look like a pencil wearing a pair of gloves. Let's hope he has a gameplan to suit that ridiculous body shape.
Nurmagomedov tries to stand but his hand is stuck under Payne.
Nurmagomedov seems to be taking a bit of a break to think of his next move. He lands a short punch in the meantime.

Nurmagomedov works to advance to full mount. Payne defends for a few seconds but eventually he succumbs.
You get the feeling that Payne really doesn't like being in this position too much.
Nurmagomedov is working for a guillotine from mount but Payne frees his head quite easily.
Nurmagomedov is standing up out of mount! Strange tactic there - he must really want this one on the feet!
Payne connects with a high kick.

Payne misses with a few strikes there.
Nurmagomedov throws a sloppy head kick and Payne moves out of range easily.
Harry Payne seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Nurmagomedov decides to change it up a bit and drives through with a nice takedown into half guard.

Nurmagomedov is looking for a kimura but Payne is holding onto that half guard position, so it's hard for Nurmagomedov to get the leverage.

Payne throws a right and a left that Nurmagomedov avoids nicely.
Payne looks to land a combination but Nurmagomedov avoids it well.

Nurmagomedov pulls Payne in close to his closed guard and prevents Payne from doing any damage or advancing position.
There's a bit of a scramble here and now Nurmagomedov is on top in guard.

Payne scrambles, trying to get to his feet, but Nurmagomedov manages to mount him!
BOOM! Nurmagomedov connects with a massive shot to the dome!
Nurmagomedov working for a submission here. He's tucked his head under his opponent's arm, looking for an arm triangle. He's hopped off into side control, looking to tighten the submission... is it going to work? He's given up a good position looking for it. Payne looks OK. Oh, I spoke too soon, he's out! That must have been tighter than I thought! Excellent work there by Nurmagomedov! Submission of the night perhaps?
