And in the blue corner, fighting out of Las Vegas, with a TWGC record of 24 wins and 10 losses; Lou Gotch! The judges for this bout are Dean Styles, Alyssa Summers and David Schapiro.
Let's get this grappling contest under way! Who will be victorious? Hunter throws a loose over hand right and dives in with a double leg takedown. Gotch tries to sprawl but it's too late and the fighters hit the mat. Hunter is in Gotch's guard. Score +2 for takedown into guard / half guard: Hunter (2) vs (0) Gotch The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Hunter's corner is telling him to maintain position. Hunter's ground tactics aren't going to win him many fans. Let's hope he's got fireworks for us if he gets back to his feet because he's not doing much on the ground. Hunter seems to have a rather negative gameplan on the ground. He seems keen to just score the takedown and hold down Gotch for as long as he can get away with. Hunter continues to stall. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

That's three minutes gone in the round. Gotch might have to switch it up a bit here because his efforts to control Hunter haven't been going to plan, at least at the current moment in time. Our spies down at at HELLCADEMY inform us that Gotch has really been working on his submissions in the buildup to this fight. Will it pay off? Hunter seems content to control from guard here. He's going to have to remain active though if he doesn't want to get stood back up. Gotch trying to control the position here.

That's nine minutes gone in the round. Gotch is trying to control the position but Hunter postures up. Gotch looking to hit a scissor sweep but Hunter is one step ahead there. Hunter slows down the pace of the fight, as he sits in guard. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Gotch looking for submissions off his back, moving his hips, looking for an opening.

That's twelve minutes gone in the round. Hunter wants to pass the guard but Gotch is keeping the position. Gotch manages to sweep nicely, so he's now on top. Hunter manages to get himself to full guard.

Hunter keeps control of the position for the meantime. Gotch seems content to maintain position for now, rather than mounting any offense.
