This TWGC bout is 1 fifteen minute round in the super heavyweight division. Introducing today's competitors. And in the blue corner, fighting out of Tokyo, with a TWGC record of 1 wins and 1 losses; Ameen Robertson! The judges for this bout are Franklyn Lucas, Bruno Lombardi and Jonathan Paton.
The fighters connect hands in the middle of the mat and we are under way. Maykit fakes high and shoots in for a takedown but Robertson avoids it really well and circles away. Robertson slaps away a takedown attempt from Maykit, before circling back to the center of the mat. No luck with that takedown attempt from Maykit. That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Woodie Maykit. That's going to take a lot out of him. Robertson feints and then dives in with a takedown. That was a long way out but the feint bought him enough time to close the distance and complete the takedown. Now we'll play guard for a bit and see who can get the better of that position. He's being very persistent here but Maykit manages to land a sweep and now he's on top!
