Coming up we have a bantamweight MMA rules bout between Jake Volkov (ranked 3789 p4p, 4609 weight class) and Conor McGregor (ranked 0 p4p, 244 weight class). Conor McGregor is the more experienced fighter, so let's see if that makes a difference tonight.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the bantamweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of London, Jake Volkov! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of 3 - 1 - 0, fighting out of London, Conor McGregor! The judges for this bout are Colin Fotheringham, Chris Edwards and Steven Brown.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! McGregor dives in and grabs Volkov's left leg, looking for a takedown. Volkov pushes down on McGregor's head and hops out. McGregor shoots in for a takedown. "Ole!" shouts Volkov as he jumps to the side. Volkov pushes McGregor up against the cage in a clinch. Volkov breaks the clinch and we return to the middle of the mat. Volkov closes the distance and clinches. McGregor manages to get underhooks and slows down the pace for a moment.
Volkov just leaning against McGregor, taking a breather. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Volkov throws an elbow that misses.
Nice body punch from Volkov - that landed with a thud.
McGregor wants a takedown but no success here.
Jake Volkov has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Conor McGregor. McGregor decides to pull guard.
That's one minute gone in the round. McGregor can't do much from the bottom at the moment, as Volkov controls the pace. Volkov throwing strikes but missing. A big thud reverberates around the arena there as Volkov accidentally thumps the mat. Hopefully he's not broken his hand. McGregor keeping moving, preventing Volkov from controlling successfully. Volkov with a nice head shot there. Volkov throwing strikes from guard but McGregor blocks nicely. Volkov sneaks a leg through and gets to half guard. That was like a knife through butter how easily he passed McGregor's guard. Volkov seems very keen to just sit and control from half guard but McGregor does not like that idea so much and is remaining active off his back. McGregor tries to get to full guard but Volkov has control of the leg.
That's two minutes gone in the round. McGregor keeping control of the leg, stopping his opponent passing to mount. Volkov wants to control but McGregor is keeping him busy. Volkov stands up from half guard... He's had enough of that ground malarky for the time being. McGregor shoots in for a takedown. "I don't think so" says Volkov as he avoids it easily. Volkov stuffs a takedown. It's all about dictating where the fight takes place and Volkov wants it to stay on the feet. Volkov tries to score a power double leg takedown but McGregor sees that one coming and sprawls well. That will dishearten Volkov somewhat. Volkov misses with a takedown and McGregor counters with a nice double leg into side control. Volkov won't be happy with that.

Volkov is pushing McGregor's head away, looking to escape. McGregor manages to hold on to the position though. Volkov is positioning himself to get back to half guard. McGregor working the head with strikes. McGregor is trying to get an arm triangle but Volkov is defending well. Volkov is trying to buck McGregor off.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it. You can see the frustration on Volkov's face as McGregor controls the position. Volkov really does look like a pencil wearing a pair of gloves. Let's hope he has a gameplan to suit that ridiculous body shape. Volkov is looking for a sweep. McGregor goes for an armbar! This could be all over! Wait, no, Volkov rolls with the submission and now he's on top in McGregor's guard! Nice work there by Volkov! McGregor preventing the ground and pound from doing any damage. The crowd thankful this round is nearly over. Volkov stops McGregor from standing up. Volkov throwing strikes but missing. And that is the end of the round. The fighters go back to their corners.
Jake Volkov dominated that round. The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare each other down, ready to get back to the action.

McGregor tries to pull guard but Volkov holds him up against the cage and eventually McGregor drops back down to his feet.
Volkov throws a blind hook that connects with the side of McGregors head. McGregor ties up his opponent against the cage and manages to drag the fight down to the ground. McGregor no doubt will be looking to work submissions from his guard. McGregor keeping moving, preventing Volkov from controlling successfully. Volkov is really struggling to control McGregor but he's trying to hold on to the position. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. McGregor preventing the ground and pound from doing any damage. Volkov showing good wrestling skills to control the position. Volkov won't allow McGregor to sweep him here.

Volkov stands up from guard. Let's bang! Volkov tries a switch kick but it misses it's target. McGregor dives in and grabs Volkov's left leg, looking for a takedown. Volkov pushes down on McGregor's head and hops out. Volkov shoots in for a double leg but McGregor sprawls well. That's going to sap some energy. Volkov tries a head kick but it misses.
The fight moves into the clinch position. McGregor jumps guard but Volkov turns him against the cage and keeps the fight standing. Jake Volkov has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Conor McGregor.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Volkov effectively controlling the action here. McGregor letting Volkov take a breather here. Volkov tries to take the fight to the ground by pulling guard but can't manage it.

McGregor tries to drive through with a takedown attempt but Volkov defends well and McGregor ends up having to push Volkov into the cage where they will battle it out in the clinch. It looked like Volkov was trying to counter with a body shot coming off that last attack from McGregor. Volkov looks for a takedown but McGregor sprawls well.

McGregor tries to drive through with a takedown attempt but Volkov defends well and McGregor ends up having to push Volkov into the cage where they will battle it out in the clinch. McGregor takes a nasty kick to the mid section... That should keep him thinking. Does he try and block and risk a head kick landing?
Volkov throws a good cross that connects.
McGregor looks frustrated there after his takedown attempt is stuffed easily. Volkov tries to counter with a takedown but McGregor is quick to defend against it. McGregor is breathing heavily. McGregor closes this distance looking for a takedown but Volkov circles away. McGregor misses with a two punch combination.
Volkov gets his takedown attempt stuffed easily and McGregor counters with a nice double leg into guard. Volkov wriggles free and stands up. This has been an exciting period of action! Volkov scores with a sloppy punch to the body. Not much technique there but it did the business.

McGregor shoots in looking for a takedown but Volkov manages to keep the fight standing, pushing McGregor's face into the canvas for good measure before circling away. Volkov seem to be loading up, looking for a big counter. Volkov clinches up with McGregor and pushes him back against the cage. Volkov pushes off and circles away, back to the middle of the mat. Volkov clinches up with McGregor and pushes him back against the cage. Volkov is working on a leg, looking for a takedown but McGregor is defending well. McGregor goes for a takedown attempt but Volkov pushes him away and we're back to fighting at a distance.
Jake Volkov is winning the standup battle so far. Volkov fails with a takedown attempt from distance. McGregor with the counter takedown but Volkov avoids it easily. McGregor on the wrong end of a nice low kick. He's acting like it's no big deal but he doesn't want to take many more of those. Volkov shoots and misses and McGregor counters with a three punch combination, finished off with a leg kick. Nice work. McGregor gets tackled into the cage by Volkov. Volkov maintains the clinch. And that is the end of the round. The fighters go back to their corners.
Jake Volkov dominated that second round. That's the end of the interval. I'm sure that seemed a lot quicker than a minute for our two fighters! Back to the action. This is the final round!

McGregor controlling from the full mount. McGregor can't quite control the action as he would like just now, as Volkov is looking to escape. Volkov avoids a series of strikes thrown by McGregor.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. McGregor lands a shot to the body, followed up by a shot to the exposed head of his trapped opponent.
That's one minute gone in the round. McGregor moves into side control, trying to work for a kimura. That looks painful! Will he finish!!?? No, Volkov has worked his arm free - good work by Volkov!
Volkov is trying to control McGregor's posture but McGregor avoids it. Volkov manages to land a sweep and he's now on top! Lovely Jiu Jitsu! McGregor gets full guard. McGregor keeping moving, preventing Volkov from controlling successfully. McGregor working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. Volkov doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. Volkov manages to throw the legs off his shoulder and he's back into guard - no problem. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. McGregor takes a big intake of breath there - he's definitely tired.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Volkov throws a big elbow that misses. Volkov missing there with some ground and pound from the guard. Volkov is really dominating this fight. Is there anything that McGregor can do to turn this around? McGregor tries to land a sweep but no joy. McGregor utilising some decent striking defenses from the guard, preventing the ground and pound. McGregor wants to sweep here but Volkov controlling him for the moment. Volkov throws a strike but McGregor rolls with it and manages to sweep. Now he's in guard on top. Volkov thows some rabbit punches from the bottom but they don't do any damage.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Volkov throwing some rather feeble looking strikes off his back.
Volkov wants to stand but McGregor is controlling the position. Volkov can't do much from the bottom at the moment, as McGregor controls the pace. The referee is asking the fighters to pick up the pace. Volkov will have to put a bit more behind his punches if he's going to do any damage from this position.
The referee decides to stand the fighters back up. McGregor tries to clinch but Volkov moves out of range. Volkov attempts a counter takedown but McGregor avoids it well and moves away. Volkov shoots in looking for a takedown. McGregor tries to sprawl out of it but Volkov keeps driving through. The fighters are pinned against the cage. McGregor manages to get underhooks and after a bit of a struggle, circles away and we're back to standing. Jake Volkov is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things.
That's four minutes gone in the round. The crowd are getting on the fighters' backs, as the pace has dropped off in the last minute or so. McGregor darts in looking for a takedown but Volkov gets double underhooks and turns McGregor into the cage. Volkov shoots in for a takedown. "Ole!" shouts McGregor as he jumps to the side. No luck for McGregor with that takedown attempt. Volkov changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. McGregor tries to avoid it but Volkov manages to keep hold of a leg and drag McGregor to the ground. McGregor escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet. That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Jake Volkov. That's going to take a lot out of him. Volkov misses with a takedown attempt. He shot from a bit too far out. McGregor appears to be waiting to throw a counter punch to the body. Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out! McGregor gets a clinch. Conor McGregor has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here! Jake Volkov is fighting for a decision here - he's started to take the cautious approach. Volkov breaks the clinch.
