Coming up we have a bantamweight MMA rules bout between Naoki Inoue (ranked 3131 p4p, 3619 weight class) and Ben Boone (ranked 195 p4p, 221 weight class). Boone has chosen Here Comes the Boom as his entrance music, which hasn't gone down very well with the crowd. The key to victory for Naoki Inoue has got to be keeping the fight on the feet.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the bantamweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 6 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Naoki Inoue!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 3 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Ben Boone!
The judges for this bout are Donald Grub, James Atkins and James Ackerman.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Boone shoots in for a takedown. "I don't think so" says Inoue as he avoids it easily.
Ben Boone seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Boone fakes with an overhand right and moves in to clinch with Inoue, pushing him back against the cage.
Inoue tries to circle away but Boone has him pinned against the cage.
Boone pulls guard effortlessly.

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Boone has a loose triangle. He'll be looking to tighten that up but Inoue can see exactly what he's planning and manages to posture up and free himself.

We get told so often about how wrestlers don't like to be on their backs. Let's see if Boone can do anything to dispel that myth.

The fighters are starting to perspire pretty heavily.
Boone seems content to control from guard here. He's going to have to remain active though if he doesn't want to get stood back up.

Inoue stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Boone swivels though and keeps the full guard.

Inoue drops back, looking for a kneebar! Boone looks panicked! The fighters roll across the mat, one looking to finish, one looking to escape. Boone looks to have wriggled free... Yes, he's got his leg free and he's dived into side control! Good work there from Boone!
And that is the end of the round. The fighters go back to their corners.
Ben Boone dominated that round.
That's time! Back to the action!
Boone shoots in and drives through. Inoue sprawls well.

Inoue stuffs the takedown.
Inoue appears to be looking for a counter punch to the body.
Ben Boone is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things.
Boone is looking to clinch but Inoue is avoiding it.
Boone closes the distance and clinches.
Inoue wants to break free but Boone has control.

Naoki Inoue has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Ben Boone.
Boone escapes the clinch and we're back to striking.

Inoue's corner calls for him to break the clinch, which he does.

Boone shoots in for a double leg but Inoue sprawls well. That's going to sap some energy.
Inoue was looking to counter that move with a punch but didn't quite pull the trigger.

Boone is breathing heavily.
Boone closes the distance and clinches.
Inoue is trying to force a seperation but Boone has the dominant position.

Boone is looking for a takedown up against the cage. Inoue gets underhooks though and prevents the takedown attempt.

Boone is rocked!
Boone closes the distance and after a bit of a stuggle, scores a takedown into Inoue's guard.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.

Inoue has an omoplata and is looking to use it perhaps as a submission or perhaps to transition. Boone is in a bit of discomfort here, but he's managed to free himself and has dived into side control! That didn't work out too well for Inoue.

The crowd are showing their displeasure at the lack of action as loud boos ring out around the arena.

Boone would like to get this fight back to the feet but can't get free from the closed guard.

Inoue wants to stand and escape but Boone is having none of it.

Boone closes the distance and scores a nice trip takedown into half guard. Inoue did well to prevent Boone getting side control.
The crowd thankful this round is nearly over.
