Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Mukhtar Mihailovic (ranked 3685 p4p, 3931 weight class) and Blase Beneteau (ranked 388 p4p, 396 weight class). Blase Beneteau acknowledges the crowd's support as he enters the cage.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of 2 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Mukhtar Mihailovic! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of 1 - 1 - 0, fighting out of London, Blase Beneteau! The judges for this bout are Colin Fotheringham, Paul Tew and Chris Edwards.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Beneteau lands with a thumping leg kick.
Beneteau throws a combination but it was largely blocked by Mihailovic. Mihailovic shoots in but doesn't get the takedown and Beneteau counters with a left and a right that stings Mihailovic. Beneteau will need to tighten up his combinations if he doesn't want to gas himself out, swinging at thin air.
Mihailovic shoots in and drives through. Beneteau sprawls well. Mihailovic throws a looping left and ducks down for a takedown. He's got his arms around Beneteau's waist but Beneteau gets an underhook and avoids the takedown by throwing Mihailovic off to one side. That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Mukhtar Mihailovic. That's going to take a lot out of him. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Beneteau throws a combination that misses and Mihailovic counters with a nice double leg into guard. Beneteau is trying to control the position from the bottom.

That's two minutes gone in the round. The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight. Mihailovic is trying to work a guillotine from the top, or something like that? Don't know how he thinks he's going to get a finish from there. Beneteau looking to sweep here. No luck so far. Beneteau is trying to stand up but he's not managed so far. Beneteau preventing the ground and pound from doing any damage. Mihailovic wants to stand but Beneteau has a closed guard, so he can't escape.
The referee has stepped in and called for a break in the action. We'll restart on the feet. Mihailovic stumbles momentarily as he takes a strong leg kick from Beneteau.
That's three minutes gone in the round. A nice combination there by Beneteau.
It looks like Mukhtar Mihailovic has been cut. Beneteau throws a nice outside leg kick. Beneteau misses with a jab and misses with a cross straight after too.

and Mihailovic counters with a takedown into side control! That could mean trouble for Beneteau! Mihailovic tries for a kimura. Not really close to a finish though. I wouldn't like to be where Beneteau is right now. Mihailovic working the ground and pound but Beneteau is defending the strikes.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Beneteau is looking to reverse the position. This has been an exciting period of action! Beneteau wants to get back to his feet but Mihailovic drags him back down. Beneteau is trying to control Mihailovic's posture but Mihailovic avoids it. Beneteau is looking to reverse the position. Mihailovic has hold of Beneteau's arm. He's looking for a kimura. Beneteau seems comfortable defending it but Mihailovic has shifted his position slighty and is cranking on the arm! Beneteau is real pain and he's forced to tap out! Beneteau is disgusted with himself for not defending it better but Mihailovic couldn't care less - he's delighted!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 4:47 of round 1, we have a winner by way of Submission (Kimura). Mukhtar Mihailovic! A determined Mukhtar Mihailovic didn't want to dwell on this fight in his post fight interview. Instead he was more keen to state he wants a title shot. Let's see if he gets it!
