Coming up we have a bantamweight MMA rules bout between Koda Southam (ranked 4791 p4p, 25389 weight class) and Rocky Johnson (ranked 246 p4p, 278 weight class). On his way into the cage it seems that Koda Southam has been attacked by a crazed fan! It looks like it might have been the just bleed guy! Luckily Koda Southam seems to be OK! I thought that lunatic was in prison!?

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the bantamweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of 2 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Koda Southam! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of London, Rocky Johnson! The judges for this bout are Frank Antenori, Timothy Bukovac and Percy O'Donnell.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Johnson throws a hook to the body but it doesn't connect.
Rocky Johnson seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. Johnson is on the wrong end of a nice combination from Southam. Southam tries a switch kick but it misses it's target. Johnson closes the distance and clinches. Southam looking to throw knees to the head but Johnson is blocking nicely.

Southam with a flurry of punches that miss. Southam throwing strikes from guard but Johnson blocks nicely. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Johnson is working an open guard so Southam takes the opportunity to get back to his feet. A head kick misses from Southam. Nice shot lands for Southam. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. A big thud reverberates around the arena there as Southam accidentally thumps the mat. Hopefully he's not broken his hand. Southam throwing elbows and punches but not connecting, as Johnson works some decent striking defense from the bottom. Johnson thows some rabbit punches from the bottom but they don't do any damage. We get told so often about how wrestlers don't like to be on their backs. Let's see if Johnson can do anything to dispel that myth. Southam controlling from the top position. Southam loading up with the ground and pound but he's missing more than he's landing in this flurry.

Southam got a little sloppy there for a moment and Johnson has worked his way into a loose triangle - can he finish it?! No, Southam has managed to get both his arms back between Johnson's legs - danger averted. Southam postures up to throw the ground and pound strikes but they don't connect. The referee has decided to stand the fighters back up, so we'll restart on the feet. Johnson shoots in for a takedown! He's got it and he's managed to land in side control! That's better than Johnson was expecting from the takedown attempt, I'm sure! Southam throws Johnson to one side and escapes! Johnson looking to land some kicks to the body here.
Johnson wants to clinch up but Southam keeps it at a distance. Southam seem to be loading up, looking for a big counter. Johnson misses with a kick to the body.
Johnson lunges in with swinging rights and lefts but Southam circles away quickly and effectively. Southam is looking to counter with head kicks. Johnson circles away from the clinch attempt.
Johnson unleashes a big counter combination but Southam bobs and weaves and avoids any damage. Southam buckles his opponent's knee momentarily with a nice leg kick.

That's four minutes gone in the round. This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff! Johnson dives in for a single leg takedown but Southam sprawls and the fighters end up clinched against the cage. Johnson looks winded! Southam darts in and clinches Johnson up against the cage. Southam lands a knee to the head there! That was nasty!

Koda Southam dominated that round. That's the end of the interval. I'm sure that seemed a lot quicker than a minute for our two fighters! Back to the action. Johnson shoots in but doesn't get the takedown and Johnson takes a counter punch right on the button for his troubles. Southam throws a lazy head kick so Johnson counters with a double leg into guard. Good agility. Southam is doing well to control the posture of his opponent and prevent any damage. Southam has controlled the position for a good 20 seconds, which will no doubt be starting to frustrate his opponent. Johnson trying to control the position from guard on top but Southam is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Johnson won't allow Southam to get back to his feet. Johnson stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Southam swivels though and keeps the full guard. Johnson wants to control from the top but Southam keeps moving.

Johnson tries to clinch but fails miserably and Southam counters nicely by changing levels and landing a hook to the body. Johnson misses with the body kick and Southam counters with a straight punch to the midsection. This has been an exciting period of action! Southam lands a pitter patter jab to the forehead of his opponent. Johnson has his head slapped from side to side by a 3 punch combination. That must have hurt him. A punch combination from Southam misses. Johnson shoots in for a takedown. "I don't think so" says Southam as he avoids it easily. Southam throws a head kick that looked like it stung.

Koda Southam dominated that second round. The cut man is working on Rocky Johnson's cut. That's time! Southam's corner gives him a slap on the ass as he gets ready to fight. This is the final round! Johnson shoots in but no luck this time. A good leg kick by Southam. Southam has closed the distance and engaged Johnson in a clinch.

Obviously he's been working hard on his cardio. Johnson takes an elbow to the temple. Southam connects with a nasty looking knee right to Johnson's face.

Johnson has a body lock and is looking for a takedown. Southam is bouncing around trying to prevent the takedown and somehow he has indeed managed to stay on his feet. Southam pushes off and circles away, back to the middle of the mat. Southam works over Johnson's head and body with a nice combination. This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff! Southam is looking to clinch. Johnson drops down looking to force a counter takedown but Southam defends it well. The fight stays on the outside here - Johnson looks like he's thinking about clinching though.
And that's the end of the fight! Koda Southam showed his dominance in that final round. Well Southam has outscored his opponent in every aspect of the fight today. Only a scarily incompetent judge or two will keep him from a well deserved win... Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
