Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Aldo Leopold (ranked 3512 p4p, 21585 weight class) and Vinny Corcoran (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 4 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Aldo Leopold!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 18 - 13 - 0, fighting out of Helsinki, Vinny Corcoran!
The judges for this bout are Alan Glass, Frank Dennis and Daniel Franklin.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Corcoran thows a leg kick but Leopold checks it

and Leopold counters with a single leg into guard. Corcoran didn't expect that.
We could do with one of the fighters taking the initiative a bit more on the ground - they're both waiting to capitalize on a mistake.
Corcoran is trying to stand up but he's not managed so far.
Leopold is frustrating his opponent with some stalling tactics from top position.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Corcoran utilising some decent striking defenses from the guard, preventing the ground and pound.
Corcoran is looking to stand up but Leopold isn't so interested in that idea.

The referee has motioned to the fighters to stand back up.

Leopold closes the distance and clinches up, looking for a takedown. He shifts his weight and gets a nice trip into half guard.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
Leopold lands a big shot. The thud that echoes around the arena is like music to the fans' ears.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Leopold seems content to maintain position for now, rather than mounting any offense.

That's three minutes gone in the round.
Corcoran is trying to stand up here but Leopold is controlling him well.
We may be looking at a referee standup if the pace doesn't pick up soon.
Corcoran avoiding damage under a succession of punches from Leopold.
Leopold working some ground and pound from close in. He's looking to maintain this position and strike for a while by the looks of things... although he'll probably advance to full mount in a minute now I've said that.

It looks like Vinny Corcoran has been cut.
Leopold slows the pace down in half guard.

The crowd are getting on the fighters' backs, as the pace has dropped off in the last minute or so.
Leopold controlling the action here.
Leopold wants to pass to mount but Corcoran is defending the position.
Leopold is figuring out what he wants to do next.
Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out!

The referee has decided to stand the fighters back up, so we'll restart on the feet.
Corcoran jabs. That one connects to the head of his opponent.
And that is the end of the round. The fighters go back to their corners.

Aldo Leopold dominated that round.
The cut man is working on Vinny Corcoran's cut.
The referee calls time. The cornermen exit stage left and we're back to business.

Corcoran throws an ugly left hook that misses

and Leopold counters with a takedown into side control.
Leopold working the ground and pound but he's contacting the mat, not the fighter.
Leopold working away diligently from side control. Landing strikes effectively there - that will score him some points on the judges scorecards.
Corcoran is working hard to escape and get back to his feet. After a battle for position, Leopold asserts his dominance and retains side control.
Corcoran bucks up and tries to throw Leopold off but instead Leopold has got his back!

Corcoran wants to get back to his feet.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Leopold controls the action.
Leopold misses with an elbow to the head.
Leopold is really dominating this fight. Is there anything that Corcoran can do to turn this around?
Corcoran is being controlled on the ground here - he must escape this position otherwise surely the end is near.

A lull in the action here being met with boos from the crowd.

Leopold is working really hard to secure the rear naked choke. Corcoran defends successfully for a significant amount of time. Both fighters are looking very determined.
Leopold punches Corcoran on the ear.

That has opened up Vinny Corcoran's cut even more.
Leopold has good solid back control here.
Corcoran is in a world of trouble here. He's outmatched on the ground here and he'd better get Leopold off his back sharpish unless he wants to be submitted.
