Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Terenti Pushkin (ranked 2591 p4p, 3127 weight class) and William Cruz (ranked 257 p4p, 294 weight class). I don't know about you partner, but I'm pumped for this one!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of 2 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Terenti Pushkin! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of 1 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, William Cruz! The judges for this bout are Roosa Järviläinen, Marco Blurström and Anni Minnemäki.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Cruz fails in his attempt to clinch. Horrible takedown attempt by Cruz or perhaps it was just good defense by Pushkin, which made it look bad. Cruz darts in trying to clinch and Pushkin decides to take the opportunity to score a takedown. He's landed in Cruz's guard. Pushkin drops back for a leg! It's a sloppy attempt though and Pushkin jumps back into guard quickly, to retain the dominant position. Pushkin wants to control from the top but Cruz keeps moving. Cruz is looking to stand up but Pushkin isn't so interested in that idea. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Pushkin trying to control but Cruz is working from the bottom. Pushkin is trying to work a guillotine from the top, or something like that? Don't know how he thinks he's going to get a finish from there.
That's one minute gone in the round. Cruz is looking to stand back up... there's a bit of a scramble and Pushkin dives into side control.
Pushkin is trying to get an arm triangle but Cruz is defending well. Cruz is trying to get back to his feet. Pushkin tries for a kimura but Cruz is defending well. Cruz tries to escape but Pushkin is in control. Pushkin tries for a kimura. Not really close to a finish though. Pushkin wants to work for a kimura but he's foiled early by Cruz, who protects the arm well.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Pushkin creates a bit of distance and throws down some hard shots. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Cruz is putting a lot of effort into getting back to his feet here. Pushkin is trying to get an arm triangle but Cruz is defending well. Cruz is trying to stand back up. He's worked his way up against the cage but Pushkin has just dragged him back down to the mat.
That's three minutes gone in the round. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Pushkin tries for a kimura. Not really close to a finish though. Pushkin prevents Cruz from escaping the position. Pushkin is looking to finish here, going for an Americana. Cruz knows the correct defense though, so he's OK. Cruz throws Pushkin to one side and escapes!
That's four minutes gone in the round. Cruz shoots in looking for a double leg takedown. Pushkin defends it nicely. Pushkin drops down looking for a counter takedown but Cruz sprawls and moves away. Pushkin closes the distance, clinches up and gets a nice trip takedown into side control. Very smooth. Cruz is trying to get back to his feet. Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out! Pushkin looking for an arm triangle but it's way too loose to do anything. And that is the end of the round. The fighters go back to their corners.
Terenti Pushkin dominated that round. The referee calls time. The cornermen exit stage left and we're back to business. Cruz darts in looking for a takedown but Pushkin gets double underhooks and turns Cruz into the cage. Cruz tries to clinch up and Pushkin counters with a single leg into guard. Cruz didn't expect that. Pushkin trying to control but Cruz is working from the bottom. Cruz is trying to stand up but he's not managed so far. Pushkin drops back looking for a leg! Cruz is in trouble here! The fighters roll with the hold and Cruz manages to kick Pushkin off! Pushkin jumps back into Cruz's guard. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Pushkin won't allow Cruz to get back to his feet.
That's one minute gone in the round. Cruz is using up a lot of energy trying to get back to his feet. Perhaps he should improve his position first. Pushkin thinks about going for a leg but decides against it, in order to maintain the position. Cruz is trying to stand up but he's not managed so far.
The referee has motioned to the fighters to stand back up. Cruz tries to clinch there but Pushkin circles away.
Cruz fails with the takedown. Pushkin half commits to a counter takedown before pushing away, out of range. Cruz shoots in for a takedown. "I don't think so" says Pushkin as he avoids it easily. Pushkin attempts a counter takedown but Cruz avoids it well and moves away. Terenti Pushkin has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of William Cruz. Cruz tries to clinch there but Pushkin circles away.
Cruz throws a looping left and ducks down for a takedown. He's got his arms around Pushkin's waist but Pushkin gets an underhook and avoids the takedown by throwing Cruz off to one side. Cruz is breathing heavily.
That's two minutes gone in the round. A few boos can be heard. I'm sure they will multiply if the fighters don't pick up the pace. Nice sprawl there from Pushkin as Cruz shoots in. Pushkin looks to have improved his striking defense since last time we saw him fight. Pushkin defends well against a solid takedown attempt from Cruz. Pushkin swats away the attempt to clinch by Cruz. Pushkin throws a loose over hand right and dives in with a double leg takedown. Cruz tries to sprawl but it's too late and the fighters hit the mat. Pushkin is in Cruz's guard. Cruz wants to stand up but Pushkin is controlling him. Pushkin trying to control but Cruz is working from the bottom. Pushkin pushes down on Cruz's leg and manages to get into half guard. Pushkin is sneakily working for an arm triangle but Cruz sees it coming and defends easily.

That's four minutes gone in the round. The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight. Pushkin is looking for an arm triangle, whilst trying to pass to side control. Cruz doesn't seem that keen to cooperate though. No luck this time Pushkin. Cruz wants to get back to his feet.

Pushkin keeps hold of his opponent and drives him back against the cage. And that is the end of the round. The fighters go back to their corners.

Cruz closes the distance and clinches up with Pushkin, looking for a takedown. Cruz pushes Pushkin against the cage but Pushkin circles to the side and manages to break the clinch. Pushkin feinted with a counter takedown. Cruz misses with a takedown attempt. He shot from a bit too far out. Cruz is looking to take this fight into the clinch. Pushkin tries to counter with a takedown but Cruz is quick to defend against it. Pushkin stuffs the takedown attempt from Cruz. Cruz gets slowly back to his feet. Terenti Pushkin has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of William Cruz. Cruz shoots in for a takedown. "Ole!" shouts Pushkin as he jumps to the side. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Pushkin circles away from the clinch attempt.

That's four minutes gone in the round. My god... these two guys really need to pick up the pace or everyone will leave to go get a beer. Cruz is not content to let Pushkin control the position. Cruz pushes Pushkin away and creates a bit of space to escape. He's almost out here... but no, Pushkin gets a good hold of his legs and remains firmly in side control.

Cruz throws a head kick that misses and Pushkin decides to take the opportunity to score a takedown. He's landed in Cruz's guard. Pushkin stops Cruz from standing up. William Cruz has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here! Terenti Pushkin is fighting for a decision here - he's started to take the cautious approach. Cruz has an omoplata and is looking to use it perhaps as a submission or perhaps to transition. Pushkin is in a bit of discomfort here, but he's managed to free himself and has dived into side control! That didn't work out too well for Cruz.
And that's the end of the fight! Terenti Pushkin showed his dominance in that final round. Well Pushkin has outscored his opponent in every aspect of the fight today. Only a scarily incompetent judge or two will keep him from a well deserved win... Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.

In favor of your winner, by unanimous decision... Terenti Pushkin! Terenti Pushkin decided to go for the less than humble approach in his post fight interview, telling everyone how he is going to conquer the world. The crowd seemed to like it when really that sort of approach could have gone either way.
