Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Iskender Aliev (ranked 4660 p4p, 25100 weight class) and Randy Rebar (ranked 0 p4p, 476 weight class). Randy Rebar has the better chin. Will he look to stand and bang today?

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Iskender Aliev!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 2 - 6 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Randy Rebar!
The judges for this bout are Luis Engracia, Seu Braga and Thiago Cunha.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Rebar throws a leg kick but Aliev sees it coming and moves out of range.

so Aliev counters with a double leg into guard. Good agility.
We get told so often about how wrestlers don't like to be on their backs. Let's see if Rebar can do anything to dispel that myth.

Aliev drops back for a leg! It's a sloppy attempt though and Aliev jumps back into guard quickly, to retain the dominant position.
Rebar wants to get back to his feet but he's too absorbed in his own little project and Aliev manages to pass to side control.

Aliev is trying for a guillotine from the top but the pressure isn't in the right place so Rebar is just riding it out for now. Aliev eventually gives up the hold.

Rebar is looking to improve his position but Aliev isn't that keen on the idea.

Aliev has control of Rebar's right arm, working for a kimura. It's a bit of a token attempt though and Rebar regains control of the situation pretty easily.

Aliev is going oldschool here, as he tries to force Rebar to tap using a forearm choke. This isn't 1993 though, so Rebar shrugs it off.

That's the end of the interval. I'm sure that seemed a lot quicker than a minute for our two fighters! Back to the action.


Rebar instigates a clinch.
Aliev has had enough of the clinch but Rebar keeps him there for the moment.

In the pre-fight buildup videos we saw Rebar working his ground and pound in the gym. He isn't landing a great percentage of his ground strikes so far though.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Rebar postures up in Aliev's guard and throws a big left but Aliev blocks it.

Aliev wants to sweep here but Rebar controlling him for the moment.

Aliev is working actively off his back, looking to secure an arm or perhaps work for a triangle.

Aliev has a loose triangle. He'll be looking to tighten that up but Rebar can see exactly what he's planning and manages to posture up and free himself.

Aliev is working the butterfly guard. He manages to land a nice scissor sweep and is now in half guard on the top. Nice move.

Rebar pushes Aliev off looking to stand but Aliev dives back in and keeps control.
Aliev is really dominating this fight. Is there anything that Rebar can do to turn this around?
