PBP Commentary |
Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between James Kirk (ranked 2516 p4p, 2248 weight class) and Sora Izanagi (ranked 278 p4p, 253 weight class). Kirk kept the crowd waiting but all that was forgotten when his ring entrance music started. The incomparable musical genius that is my fighting ability is alot like my acting. Sora Izanagi told me before the fight that he's been watching a lot of DVDs so let's see if that helps him in this one! I can't wait to find out!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 24 - 19 - 1, fighting out of Las Vegas, James Kirk!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 23 - 11 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Sora Izanagi!
The judges for this bout are Chris Saunders, Jeff Smith and Colin Fray.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Izanagi wants to clinch.
Izanagi lands a big head kick that sends Kirk tumbling to the mat! Izanagi takes a step backwards and waves Kirk back to his feet - he wants the finish!
Kirk is rocked!
It looks like James Kirk has been cut.
Kirk lands with a nice body kick.
Sora Izanagi seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
A jab from Izanagi misses.
Kirk is looking for a counter combo.
Izanagi tries to close the distance and clinch but Kirk swats him to one side with an open hand palm strike and circles away.
Oooooh!!! Kirk has knocked Izanagi down with a huge combo! Kirk steps away and waves a wobbly Izanagi back to his feet! This one might not go much longer!
It looks like Sora Izanagi has been cut.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!
Kirk sees an opening and throws a straight punch right through Izanagi's defenses. It connects perfectly with Izanagi's jaw and knocks him out cold! Wow - that's a contender for knockout of the year - absolutely brutal!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 0:55 of round 1, we have a winner by way of KO (Punch). James Kirk!
An out of breath James Kirk thanked his loyal fans in his post fight interview, giving them credit for his success over the course of his career.
