Coming up we have a featherweight MMA rules bout between Small Dayton (ranked 871 p4p, 576 weight class) and Philip Marcus (ranked 85 p4p, 51 weight class). Well, the cameraman is lingering on a pretty young lady for a bit too long there. Keep your eyes on the prize buddy or you'll miss the fighter intros!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the featherweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of 27 - 13 - 0, fighting out of London, Small Dayton ! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of 20 - 13 - 1, fighting out of Helsinki, Philip Marcus! The judges for this bout are Nard Betker, Albert Achterberg and Radbod Blank.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! We've got one fighter who appears to only be looking to counter and the other not looking particularly aggressive either, so we could be in for a dull fight. Donk. Marcus catches Dayton right on the button with a cross. Marcus connects with a right hand. Dayton shakes it off. Marcus throws a body shot but no joy. Dayton tries to counter with a takedown but Marcus is quick to defend against it. Both fighters are looking to counter, which isn't making for the most exciting fight in the world. Marcus just misses with a punch to the body.
Dayton takes a big uppercut there. He seems a bit wobbly but no, he's OK.
Marcus throws a head kick that misses and slips in the process. He scrambles back to his feet and the fighters circle. Dayton half commits to a counter takedown before pushing away, out of range. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Dayton moves out of range as Marcus strikes. Dayton defending well as Marcus loads up on a big left hand. Dayton changes levels looking for a counter takedown but doesn't commit.
That's one minute gone in the round. Marcus misses the shot to the body. Marcus throws out a token jab with nothing on it. Marcus avoids the clinch attempt nicely.
Dayton definitely looks more muscular than last time we saw him fight. Marcus misses with a half-hearted attempt at a head kick.
Dayton tries to close the distance and clinch but Marcus swats him to one side with an open hand palm strike and circles away. Dayton slips under a jab from Marcus. Dayton tries to counter by clinching up but Marcus breaks away and moves out of range. A jab from Marcus does it's job there.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Marcus misses with a wild body shot. Marcus missing with a left hand there. Dayton was out of range so wasted energy throwing that one. Dayton is looking to clinch. It seemed like Marcus was going to counter with the hook but didn't fully commit to it. Marcus throws a shot from downtown. Dayton moves away and avoids it. Dayton appears to be looking for a counter takedown. Marcus throws a nice inside leg kick. Marcus bobbing and weaving, closes the distance and lands a hook to the side of Dayton 's head.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Dayton blocks a head kick by Marcus.
Dayton feinted with a counter takedown. Dayton takes a jab right on the nose. That must have hurt but he shrugs his shoulders and looks to return the favor. Philip Marcus seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. Dayton avoids the head kick by Marcus.
Dayton misses with a takedown attempt and Marcus counters with a stiff right hand. Dayton ducks under a wild hook from Marcus. Marcus changes levels and scores with a jab to the body.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Marcus fakes a head punch and goes low to the body. Nicely done. A jab lands there for Marcus. Dayton keeping his hands up high there, blocking the jab from Marcus. Marcus connects with a looping right hand.
Dayton drops his hands momentarily and Marcus takes advantage with a crisp shot to the head. This has been an exciting period of action! Dayton walks into a jab. And that is the end of the round. The fighters go back to their corners.
Philip Marcus dominated that round. The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare each other down, ready to get back to the action. Marcus looks to land a right hand but Dayton moved out of range. Dayton feinted with a counter takedown. Marcus misses with a half-hearted attempt at a head kick.

Marcus swings wildly with a hook that is half blocked by Dayton . This entire fight has taken place on the feet so far and you wonder whether Dayton might be better served trying to take this one to the ground because he's losing the standup battle so far. Marcus takes a swing at Dayton 's ribcage but misses. Dayton tries to counter with a takedown but Marcus is quick to defend against it. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Marcus getting the better of the striking in that exchange. Marcus stuns Dayton with a nice body shot, before stepping back out of range.
That's one minute gone in the round. Marcus tries to work over Dayton 's front leg with a kick but Dayton checks it. Dayton drops down looking for a counter takedown but Marcus sprawls and moves away. Dayton ducks right into an uppercut from Marcus. Marcus lands a nice shot that snaps Dayton 's head back.
Marcus has used his reach advantage pretty well so far tonight. Marcus lands a glancing blow to the side of Dayton 's head. Dayton takes a jab on the nose. He smiles like he loves it and keeps coming. Philip Marcus is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs. Dayton gets to the clinch - let's see what his plan is here.

Dayton tries to take the fight to the ground by pulling guard but can't manage it.
Marcus lands a body punch. Marcus tried to land a shot to the body but connects with Dayton 's elbow. Marcus lands a body shot in the clinch.

The crowd are loving this. Great action here. Still in the clinch, Marcus scores with a nice short uppercut. Marcus lands a right hand. Dayton prevents a body shot from Marcus. Marcus is trying to force a seperation but Dayton has the dominant position. Dayton tries to jump guard but he falls flat on his backside. Marcus smiles and moves away.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Small Dayton . That's going to take a lot out of him. Marcus jabbing away but nothing is landing. Dayton attempts a counter takedown but Marcus avoids it well and moves away.

Marcus moves into range and connects with a jab. Dayton takes a kick to the side of the head. Marcus throws a body punch but Dayton moves out of range. Dayton drops down looking for a counter takedown but Marcus sprawls and moves away. Dayton has his hands up protecting his head but a hook from Marcus finds it's way round the side to connect with Dayton 's head. Marcus is using his reach advantage to land shots from outside his opponent's range. Marcus cracks Dayton with a good jab.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Marcus tries to bum rush Dayton with a series of wild strikes but Dayton uses good footwork to avoid the assault. Dayton keeping his hands up high there, blocking the jab from Marcus. Dayton is looking to counter the offense by Marcus and move into the clinch. Marcus misses with an uppercut. Marcus misses with a hook. Dayton ducked under it nicely. Dayton feinted with a counter takedown. Marcus lands a lovely overhand right. We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out! Dayton shoots in looking for a double leg takedown. Marcus defends it nicely. Marcus shapes to counter with a head kick. And that is the end of the round. The fighters go back to their corners.
Philip Marcus showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards. The minute break is over - no more time for sponges and pep talks - back to the action! Let's hear some noise people - this is the final round! Marcus lunges in with an uppercut that skims his opponent's chin. Philip Marcus is fighting for a decision - hopefully he's judged it right and he's actually winning the fight. A head kick by Marcus misses so Dayton counters with a double leg into guard. Good agility. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Marcus trying to control the position here. Dayton trying to control but Marcus is working from the bottom.
That's one minute gone in the round. Marcus preventing the ground and pound from doing any damage. Marcus manages to sweep nicely, so he's now on top. Dayton manages to get himself to full guard.

Dayton wants to sweep here but Marcus controlling him for the moment. Dayton has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission. Dayton throws some sloppy strikes off his back.

That's two minutes gone in the round. Dayton looking to hit a scissor sweep but Marcus is one step ahead there. Dayton throwing some rather feeble looking strikes off his back.
Marcus not doing a lot at the moment. He'll have to show some more aggression or the fight will get stood up.
The ref stands the fighters back up due to a lack of activity. Dayton looks for a takedown here. Will he get it? Marcus is fending him off so far but Dayton persists. Nope, Marcus circles away and we're back to standing. Marcus cracks Dayton with a nice right hand that draws applause from the crowd. Jab, jab by Marcus - just one landing. Dayton looks like he's developed a pretty tasty lump over his left eye. He'll need to avoid taking much more damage to that.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Marcus scores with a leg kick.
Dayton takes the fight into the clinch. Dayton tries to pull guard but Marcus holds him up against the cage and eventually Dayton drops back down to his feet.

That's four minutes gone in the round. A lull in the action here being met with boos from the crowd. Marcus tries a body shot but Dayton blocks it.

That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Small Dayton . That's going to take a lot out of him. Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out! Marcus tried to land a shot to the body but connects with Dayton 's elbow. Small Dayton has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here! Dayton misses with some punches.
And that's the end of the fight! Philip Marcus comfortably won the final round on my scorecard. Well Marcus has outworked and out performed his opponent in all aspects of the game today. He was simply too good and the decision should be no more than a formality. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
