Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Christ Benoit (ranked 3198 p4p, 2027 weight class) and Ant Thrax (ranked 381 p4p, 258 weight class). Benoit comes to the cage accompanied by Amazing Grace. Ant Thrax has the better chin. Will he look to stand and bang today?

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 18 - 8 - 1, fighting out of London, Christ Benoit!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 13 - 11 - 1, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Ant Thrax!
The judges for this bout are Cecil Peabody, Wesley Smith and Alan Glass.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Benoit lunges in with swinging rights and lefts but Thrax circles away quickly and effectively.
Benoit stalks Thrax and leaps in with a furious combination of punches. Uppercuts and crosses smash into Thrax's face. Thrax staggers backwards, shaken.
It looks like Ant Thrax has been cut.
Benoit moves away from the strike by Thrax.
Benoit swings and misses with a hook to the body.
Thrax throws out a counter right but Benoit avoids it with no problem.
Benoit moves his head to the side to avoid a jab but walks straight into a cross.
Benoit gets off balance looking for a body kick
and Thrax counters with a straight right hand.
Benoit feints a straight left to the body, then turns around with a flashy move and hits Thraxs jaw with a dramatic spinning back fist!
Thrax scores with a jab. Benoit acknowledges it with a nod of the head.
Benoit moves away from the strike by Thrax.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
Thrax lunges in with an uppercut that skims his opponent's chin.
Benoit is rocked!
Thrax is stalking Benoit. Benoit circles to his left. Keeps circling left. Bam! Straight right from Thrax, and it's lights out! Benoit really payed the price for that rookie mistake.
Ladies and gentlemen, after 0:58 of round 1, we have a winner by way of KO (Punch). Ant Thrax!
During a confident post fight interview, Ant Thrax thanked all his fans. He seemed very genuine when describing how motivated his fans keep him.
