Coming up we have a featherweight MMA rules bout between Frederico Mora (ranked 3238 p4p, 4868 weight class) and Ricky Hatton (ranked 262 p4p, 0 weight class). Ricky Hatton told me before the fight that he's been watching a lot of DVDs so let's see if that helps him in this one! I can't wait to find out!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the featherweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of 5 - 3 - 0, fighting out of London, Frederico Mora! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of 0 - 1 - 0, fighting out of New York, Ricky Hatton! The judges for this bout are James Atkins, Colin Fotheringham and James Ackerman.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Hatton swinging wildly here.
Mora swings for the body but Hatton moves out of range.
Hatton moves into the clinch. Hatton is struggling to control the position. Hatton gets double underhooks and manages to take the fight to the ground. Mora working for a triangle but Hatton defends it easily.
Mora escapes his hips to the side and looks to be working for an armbar. Hatton gives him a little smile and shakes his head. No chance.
That's one minute gone in the round. Hatton sitting in guard here, content to control. Hatton gets to his feet. Mora looking to butt scoot but the ref puts an end to that. On your feet son! Hatton looks for a takedown. He's got it. We're now in half guard. Mora has no desire to be mounted, so is trying to control. Hatton is working away from the top position though. Hatton throwing shots but they're hitting the canvas more than the man. Mora slips a foot under and gets full guard. Nice work.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Hatton in full guard, throwing the ground and pound. No damage this time. Mora looking for a guillotine here but Hatton defends easily.
Hatton with a flurry of punches that miss. Mora keeping moving, preventing Hatton from controlling successfully. Hatton wants to pass the guard but Mora is keeping the position.

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Mora keeping moving, preventing Hatton from controlling successfully. Mora has his foot on Hatton's thigh. He's trying to push off and get in position for a triangle, I think. Hatton works his way back into a safe position though. Hatton with a flurry of punches that miss. He's managed to get a loose triangle. Hatton doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. Hatton manages to throw the legs off his shoulder and he's back into guard - no problem. Hatton really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Mora. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Hatton trying to stand up but can't free himself from Mora's guard. Hatton trying to control the position from guard on top but Mora is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can. Mora keeping full guard, as Hatton tries to pass.
The referee decides to stand the fighters back up. Mora misses with a jab and misses with a cross straight after too.
Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out! No luck for Hatton with that takedown attempt. It looked like Mora was looking amped, ready to throw a big counter but didn't commit. Hatton closes this distance looking for a takedown but Mora circles away. Mora appears to be looking for a counter punch to the body. And that is the end of the round. The fighters go back to their corners.
Ricky Hatton dominated that round. The referee calls time. The cornermen exit stage left and we're back to business. Hatton throws a right and a left that Mora avoids nicely. Frederico Mora is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things. Hatton closes the distance and pushes Mora back into the cage. Hatton avoiding damage.
Hatton lands a right uppercut that snaps the head of Mora backwards. Hatton jumps guard but his hands slip and he falls flat on his back. Well, he's made himself look a right mug there, as Mora walks away with a smile on his face. Hatton gets slowly back to his feet and shakes his head. Mora tries to land with a swinging hook to the body but Hatton was well out of range. Poor timing from Mora. Hatton shoots for a double leg takedown but Mora sprawls well. He's pushed Hatton's face into the mat and manages to get back to his feet relatively easily. Mora went nuts there looking for a big combo counter but none of the flurry connected. Hatton wants to advance to full mount but Mora doesn't think that's going to happen and regains full guard instead. Mora is looking for a triangle but Hatton pushes his legs off easily.
Hatton wants to stand up, so he's looking to wriggle free of Mora's closed guard. He's half up but Mora has locked on to an arm! Uh oh! Mora pivots and extends the arm, Hatton falls face first to the mat and taps??... does he?? YES! He's tapping! Excellent counter grappling there by Mora! Well done that man!
