The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
McGregor drives through with a takedown into Zhakypov's guard. Let's see what he can do from the top position.
McGregor is fighting to break Zhakypov's control of his arms but Zhakypov is doing a good job of controlling the position at the moment.
Zhakypov throws some sloppy strikes off his back.
Zhakypov is working the butterfly guard. He manages to land a nice scissor sweep and is now in half guard on the top. Nice move.

Zhakypov has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission.
Zhakypov scores with a big shot! McGregor's head bounced off the canvas with a huge thud! More strikes land and the referee has jumped in to save McGregor! He was hurt real bad - good stoppage!
