Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Ferry Bos (ranked 25517 p4p, 4183 weight class) and Alex Newman (ranked 0 p4p, 417 weight class). Newman has chosen Enter Sandman as his entrance music. Ferry Bos could well score a knockout today. He has the power to get to Alex Newman's chin.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of 2 - 5 - 0, fighting out of Amsterdam, Ferry Bos! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of 3 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Alex Newman! The judges for this bout are Paul Aken, Saam Ante and Radbod Blank.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Newman shoots in for a takedown - he's clinched up with Bos but Bos pushes him off and we're back to square one. Bos drops down looking for a counter takedown but Newman sprawls and moves away. A head kick misses from Newman. Newman tries a head kick but it misses.
Newman swats away the attempt to clinch by Bos. Newman shoots in looking for a takedown. Bos tries to sprawl out of it but Newman keeps driving through. The fighters are pinned against the cage. Bos manages to get underhooks and after a bit of a struggle, circles away and we're back to standing. Bos shoots in for a takedown but Newman shows good takedown defense there and keeps this one on the feet. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. No luck for Newman with that takedown attempt. Bos fires out a quick counter leg kick but Newman just manages to avoid it. Ferry Bos has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Alex Newman. Newman fails with a takedown attempt from distance. Newman throws a sloppy head kick and Bos moves out of range easily. Newman wants to clinch up but Bos keeps it at a distance.
That's one minute gone in the round. Bos looks to score with a combo but nothing lands. Newman closes the distance and presses his opponent up against the cage. Bos pushes off and circles away, back to the middle of the mat. No luck for Bos with that takedown attempt. Newman dives in and grabs Bos's left leg, looking for a takedown. Bos pushes down on Newman's head and hops out. Newman slips a jab and a cross from Bos.
Bos lands with a nice low kick. That'll leave a bruise. Newman moves into range and clinches up with Bos. Bos pushes off and circles away, back to the middle of the mat. Newman rushes Bos and pushes him back against the cage in a clinch. Bos can't find room to land a body shot as Newman controls the action.
Newman looking to throw knees to the head but Bos is blocking nicely.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Newman working hard to break the clinch. Bos breaks the clinch and we're back to striking at distance.
Bos tries to clinch up against the cage, rushing in to close the distance. Newman manages to break the clinch and circles back to the middle of the mat. Bos fakes a strike and closes the distance, dragging Newman to the ground. Bos is now in Newman's guard. Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd. Newman has his hands on Bos's head, controlling the position. Bos has gone for a leg lock! Newman slips out almost immediately though and dives into Bos's guard.
Newman drops back looking for a leg! Bos is in trouble here! The fighters roll with the hold and Bos manages to kick Newman off! Newman jumps back into Bos's guard.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Bos avoiding any damage from the ground and pound. Newman postures up as if he's going to throw some strikes but drops back for an ankle! Bos is in big trouble! He looks ready to tap! But no, he's escaped and dives on top of Newman, into his guard.
Bos knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Newman on the ground. Newman pulls Bos in close to prevent any damage. Newman throwing strikes off his back to little effect.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless. Newman scrambles and gets back to his feet.
Bos fails with the takedown. Newman shoots in for a takedown. He's persisting with it as Bos sprawls well. Bos wins this battle and keeps the fight standing. Newman gets slowly back to his feet. Newman moves into range and clinches up with Bos. The crowd thankful this round is nearly over. Bos gets underhooks to prevent Newman's takedown attempt.

Bos jumps guard but Newman turns him against the cage and keeps the fight standing. And that is the end of the round. The fighters go back to their corners.
A close round but Alex Newman will probably get the nod. That's the end of the interval. I'm sure that seemed a lot quicker than a minute for our two fighters! Back to the action. Bos lands with a kick to the temple. Newman shrugs as if to say "is that all you've got?"
It looks like Alex Newman has been cut. Newman throws a push kick but Bos slaps the foot to one side. Bos takes one to the chin there. Newman clinches. Newman is trying to work out of this bad position, with his back against the cage. Bos misses with a hook to the ribs.
Bos has managed to pull guard. Let's see whether he can work an aggressive guard. It will also be interesting to see what tactics Newman uses from the top position. Newman showing good wrestling skills to control the position. Bos working away from the bottom but not quite defensive enough there because Newman has passed into half guard!

Newman gets to the clinch - let's see what his plan is here. Newman has Bos pressed up against the cage and is working for takedown. Bos manages to improve position though and keeps the fight standing. Bos tries to pull guard but Newman forces him back to his feet, against the cage. Bos pulls guard successfully.
Bos being controlled here, momentarily. Newman thinks about going for a leg but decides against it, in order to maintain the position.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Newman in full guard, throwing the ground and pound. No damage this time. Newman postures up.
Newman controlling from the top position. Newman is continuing to stall. Newman stands and steps away. Bos gets to his feet too and we're back to the striking game.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Newman fakes a head punch and goes low to the body. Nicely done. Newman shoots in looking for a takedown. Bos tries to sprawl out of it but Newman keeps driving through. The fighters are pinned against the cage. Bos manages to get underhooks and after a bit of a struggle, circles away and we're back to standing. A really sloppy takedown attempt there from Newman. Bos lands a head kick. Newman smiles back at him and beckons him forward. This has been an exciting period of action! Newman fakes with an overhand right and moves in to clinch with Bos, pushing him back against the cage. And that is the end of the round. The fighters go back to their corners.
A close second round but Alex Newman will probably get the nod - 10:9. The cut man is working on Alex Newman's cut. The fighters' corners scream their final instructions, as the referee calls time. Here we go, back to the action! This is the final round! Bos slaps away a takedown attempt from Newman, before circling back to the center of the mat. Newman clinches. Newman manages to pull guard.

That will dishearten Bos somewhat. Newman changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. Bos tries to avoid it but Newman manages to keep hold of a leg and drag Bos to the ground. Bos escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet. It looked like Bos was looking amped, ready to throw a big counter but didn't commit. Bos shoots and misses and Newman counters with a three punch combo that has Bos backing up. Bos nods at Newman to acknowledge the strikes. Bos throws a looping left and ducks down for a takedown. He's got his arms around Newman's waist but Newman gets an underhook and avoids the takedown by throwing Bos off to one side. Bos looks for a takedown but Newman sprawls well. Newman is clearly trying to counter these attacks from Bos with a body shot. Newman shoots in with a takedown attempt and he has Bos pinned against the cage. Bos gets the underhooks and manages to circle away.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Newman tries to clinch but Bos moves out of range. Bos wants to clinch. Newman tries a counter takedown but it's more of a dummy move, and he uses it to push himself away. Newman shoots in for a takedown. "I don't think so" says Bos as he avoids it easily. Bos looks for a takedown here. Will he get it? Newman is fending him off so far but Bos persists. Nope, Newman circles away and we're back to standing. Bos shoots in looking for a takedown but Newman manages to keep the fight standing, pushing Bos's face into the canvas for good measure before circling away. Newman takes a head kick and shrugs it off.

Newman tries to bum rush Bos with a series of wild strikes but Bos uses good footwork to avoid the assault. Bos shoots in and drives through. Newman sprawls well. Bos stuffs a takedown. It's all about dictating where the fight takes place and Bos wants it to stay on the feet. Bos changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. Newman tries to avoid it but Bos manages to keep hold of a leg and drag Newman to the ground. Newman escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet. Newman lands an overhand right. Bos looks to land a combination but Newman avoids it well. Newman doesn't fully commit to the body shot counter. Newman fails with a takedown attempt from distance. Bos instigates a clinch. Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show! Bos drags the fight down to the ground.
Newman drops back, looking for a kneebar! Bos looks panicked! The fighters roll across the mat, one looking to finish, one looking to escape. Bos looks to have wriggled free... Yes, he's got his leg free and he's dived into side control! Good work there from Bos! Bos is looking to take a break and control but Newman is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom.
And that's the end of the fight! Alex Newman comfortably won the final round on my scorecard. I've got Newman winning every round here. Surely the decision will go his way and he'll pick up a well deserved decision victory. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
