Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Jumanji Mowala (ranked 3453 p4p, 25572 weight class) and Big Baby (ranked 363 p4p, 489 weight class). Big Baby is the more experienced fighter, so let's see if that makes a difference tonight.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of St Petersburg, Jumanji Mowala!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Big Baby!
The judges for this bout are Tarja Halkonen, Matti Vanhoillinen and Anni Minnemäki.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Baby is looking to land body kicks.
Mowala is trying hard to land a takedown here. Baby sprawls well and keeps this one on the feet.
Horrible takedown attempt by Mowala or perhaps it was just good defense by Baby, which made it look bad.
Mowala shoots in for a takedown but Baby shows good takedown defense there and keeps this one on the feet.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Jumanji Mowala. That's going to take a lot out of him.
Baby swings and misses with a hook to the body.
It looked like Mowala was trying to counter with a body shot coming off that last attack from Baby.
Baby stuffs the takedown.

Baby drops down and drives through with a powerful takedown into guard.

We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Baby might have to switch it up a bit here because his efforts to control Mowala haven't been going to plan, at least at the current moment in time.

Mowala looks to be in better condition than last time we saw him fight. Obviously he's been working hard on his cardio.
Baby is nestled in close to Mowala, controlling him well. He's worked in a nice elbow to the side of the head as well, for good measure.
Baby tries to pass to full mount but Mowala defends it.

The crowd are showing their displeasure at the lack of action as loud boos ring out around the arena.
Mowala is staying active underneath Baby, who seems content to just control the action from this position.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Baby sitting in half guard, looking to land shots. Mowala defending well though.

The referee has motioned to the fighters to stand back up.
Baby looks to score with a jab to the body but Mowala is just out of range.
A combination from Mowala does no damage.
Jumanji Mowala seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Mowala wants to clinch up but Baby keeps it at a distance.

Mowala gets caught napping as Baby dives in and scores a takedown. Mowala manages to retain guard.
There's a bit of a scramble here and now Mowala is on top in guard.

Baby pulls Mowala in close to prevent any damage.

Mowala thinks about going for a leg but decides against it, in order to maintain the position.
Mowala passes Baby's left leg - he's now in half guard.
Baby is looking for a sweep. Mowala is wise to his cunning plan and keeps the top position.

Mowala is trying for a guillotine from the top but the pressure isn't in the right place so Baby is just riding it out for now. Mowala eventually gives up the hold.

Mowala passes into side control, despite Baby's attempt to control the position.
Baby really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Mowala. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.

The crowd thankful this round is nearly over.
Mowala throws a strike aimed at the side of Baby's head but Baby avoids it well.
Baby tries to get back to half guard but can't.
Mowala moves into full mount!
And that is the end of the round. The fighters go back to their corners.

A close round but Big Baby will probably get the nod.
That's the end of the interval. I'm sure that seemed a lot quicker than a minute for our two fighters! Back to the action.

Mowala will have to do better than that with his takedown attempts.
Baby was about to counter that last move with a leg kick but changes his mind.
Mowala throws a body kick, spinning off balance

and Baby counters with a nice double leg into side control. Mowala won't be happy with that.
Baby cracks Mowala with an elbow. That is naaassty.
Mowala tries to work a leg under to get back to half guard but Baby wriggles his own leg back out and remains in side control.

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

There's a bit of a scramble here and now Mowala is on top in guard.

Baby is avoiding any damage by keeping wrist control.
Baby's corner are shouting for him to control the position and he seems happy to oblige.
Big Baby has got the better of the ground game so far.

Mowala drops back for a leg but he's not going to get it - he lets go and Baby dives on top into guard.

In the pre-fight buildup videos we saw Baby working his ground and pound in the gym.
Baby trying to control the position from guard on top but Mowala is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.
Mowala wants to get back to his feet but Baby is in a dominant position and won't allow it.
Mowala looking to sweep using the butterfly guard but Baby puts pay to that idea as he passes nicely into half guard.
Mowala wants to control but Baby is keeping busy and won't allow it.
Baby is stalling here. Mowala is in no mood to hang around though. He's locked up a kimura from the bottom! Baby seems to be keeping calm but he's forced to roll out of the hold and Mowala has ended up in side control on the top. Nice work.

We get told so often about how wrestlers don't like to be on their backs. Let's see if Baby can do anything to dispel that myth.

Mowala looking for an arm triangle but it's way too loose to do anything.
Baby tries to work a leg under to get back to half guard but Mowala wriggles his own leg back out and remains in side control.

Mowala tries for a kimura. Not really close to a finish though.
Baby tries to buck Mowala off but Mowala is having none of it.

Jumanji Mowala dominated that second round.
The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare each other down, ready to get back to the action. This is the final round!

Mowala shoots in for a takedown but Baby shows good takedown defense there and keeps this one on the feet.
Baby throws a wild body kick that Mowala sees coming a mile off.
Mowala tries to clinch up against the cage, rushing in to close the distance. Baby manages to break the clinch and circles back to the middle of the mat.

and Baby counters with a single leg into guard. Mowala didn't expect that.

Baby tries to free his leg and advance position but Mowala is retaining full guard.

Baby is fighting to break Mowala's control of his arms but Mowala is doing a good job of controlling the position at the moment.

The referee has stepped in and called for a break in the action. We'll restart on the feet.
A telegraphed takedown attempt from Mowala is defended easily by Baby.
Baby is trying to counter with his kicks.
Mowala dives in and grabs Baby's left leg, looking for a takedown. Baby pushes down on Mowala's head and hops out.
Baby is definitely looking for the counter takedowns here.

Mowala lunges in with swinging rights and lefts but Baby circles away quickly and effectively.

There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action.
Mowala goes for a double leg but Baby avoids the attempt and the two fighters end up clinched against the cage as Baby continues to drive forward.

Mowala has a body lock and is looking for a takedown. Baby is bouncing around trying to prevent the takedown and somehow he has indeed managed to stay on his feet.

Mowala tries for a takedown but Baby manages to get underhooks.
Mowala goes for a takedown in the clinch but Baby prevents it.

Baby has Mowala pressed up against the cage and is working for takedown. Mowala manages to improve position though and keeps the fight standing.

Baby wants to break free. God knows he wants to breaaaak freeee.

Baby wants to hold on but Mowala pushes him away.

Mowala looking to isolate an arm here. Baby doesn't see it coming and as Mowala extends the arm, he's forced to tap out! Nice submission by Mowala!
