The official calls the fighters to the middle and the contest is under way. Garcia defends well against a solid takedown attempt from Fontaine. Garcia tries to counter by clinching up but Fontaine breaks away and moves out of range. Garcia takes the fight into the clinch. Garcia has managed to pull guard. Let's see whether he can work an aggressive guard. It will also be interesting to see what tactics Fontaine uses from the top position. Garcia can't keep his opponent in guard - Fontaine advances to half guard, no doubt looking to mount. Garcia is looking to improve his position.

That's six minutes gone in the round. Fontaine is pulling down on Garcia's head to control his posture. Fontaine is working from a closed guard but he's struggling to control his opponent. Fontaine can't do much from the bottom at the moment, as Garcia controls the pace. Fontaine had isolated an arm as going for a kimura. Garcia defends it easily. Fontaine looking to sweep here. No luck so far. Garcia content to sit in guard, stalling... Great. Oh but he could get punished here because Fontaine has locked up a guillotine! Fontaine's face is contorted as he sqeezes tight on the submission attempt - will he finish? Garcia is holding on here and Fontaine must be using up a lot of energy. Garcia has gone limp! He's out! He's out cold! Fontaine gets to his feet, tossing aside his stricken foe. Arms raised, he milks the applause from the crowd. Great submission!
