Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Trevor Marshall (ranked 3828 p4p, 3821 weight class) and Joshua McKinley (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). We have two fighters making their debuts here, so let's see who comes out of this one with their first professional victory.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Trevor Marshall! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Joshua McKinley! The judges for this bout are Robert Twigg, Frank Dennis and Daniel Franklin.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Marshall gets a takedown into half guard. Marshall controlling the pace. Marshall looking to pass the half guard. Not this time. Marshall takes a deep breath and rests his weight momentarily on top of his opponent, to control the position. McKinley is looking to control Marshall's leg but it's slowly edging free. Can McKinley avoid being mounted? We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Marshall thows a wild elbow that connects with the canvas. Marshall seems to have lost interest with the ground game and is thinking about standing back up.
That's one minute gone in the round.
The referee has stepped in and called for a break in the action. We'll restart on the feet. Marshall gets a takedown into half guard. McKinley wants to get back to his feet.
Marshall is taking a breather. McKinley says something to him but it's hard to make out. Perhaps he's telling him to get on with it and actually do something. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Marshall wants to stand up but McKinley has a hold of him and won't allow it. McKinley makes some distance and scrambles quickly back to his feet. Nice work! McKinley goes for a double leg but Marshall avoids the attempt and the two fighters end up clinched against the cage as Marshall continues to drive forward. Marshall throws a low kick but McKinley moves out of range easily. Nice sprawl there from Marshall as McKinley shoots in. McKinley shoots in for a takedown - he's clinched up with Marshall but Marshall pushes him off and we're back to square one. Trevor Marshall has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Joshua McKinley. McKinley fails with a takedown attempt. McKinley looks winded!
That's three minutes gone in the round. McKinley lands a leg kick that knocks Marshall off balance momentarily. Marshall shoots in with a lovely double leg takedown. McKinley manages to land in full guard to minimise the damage. Marshall engaging in some classic timewasting tactics. McKinley had isolated an arm as going for a kimura. Marshall defends it easily. Marshall slows down the pace of the fight, as he sits in guard.
That's four minutes gone in the round. The fighters are starting to perspire pretty heavily. McKinley is trying to control the position from the bottom.
Marshall not doing a lot at the moment. He'll have to show some more aggression or the fight will get stood up. Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out! And that is the end of the round. The fighters go back to their corners.
Trevor Marshall dominated that round. The minute break is over - no more time for sponges and pep talks - back to the action!
Marshall has taken the fight to the clinch.
McKinley tries to jump guard but he falls flat on his backside. Marshall smiles and moves away.

We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Marshall controls the pace of the fight for a moment. Marshall trying to pass the guard but can't manage it just yet. The ref stands the fighters back up due to a lack of activity. McKinley closes the distance and clinches up with Marshall, looking for a takedown. McKinley pushes Marshall against the cage but Marshall circles to the side and manages to break the clinch. Trevor Marshall is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things. McKinley gets taken down but at least he's managed to land in guard. McKinley is breathing heavily. Marshall is taking a break and basically stalling. The referee will not allow him to do that for long.
That's two minutes gone in the round. The fighters are working up against the cage. McKinley manages to wriggle his way back to his feet, so the fighters are now clinched against the cage. McKinley looks like he'd prefer to be striking at range right now. Marshall is trying to break the clinch but McKinley has him pressed against the cage. Marshall misses with the head strike.
Marshall wants to push off and get back to the center of the mat but McKinley has him pressed against the cage. Marshall displaying some good clinch control by pressing McKinley up against the cage. Marshall holding his opponent close, against the cage.
Marshall gets a warning from the ref for wasting time.
That's three minutes gone in the round. McKinley stops a takedown attempt from Marshall.
Marshall changes levels and goes for a takedown here. McKinley fights it off and pushes away nicely.
A really sloppy takedown attempt there from McKinley. Trevor Marshall has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Joshua McKinley. Marshall keeps the fight standing with a nice sprawl. McKinley defending well as Marshall loads up on a big left hand. Marshall gets a double leg takedown into McKinley's guard. Marshall seems content to control from guard here. He's going to have to remain active though if he doesn't want to get stood back up. Marshall distracts McKinley with his right hand and drops a big elbow with his other arm. Marshall is really dominating this fight. Is there anything that McKinley can do to turn this around?
That's four minutes gone in the round. Marshall wants to pass the guard but McKinley is keeping the position. Marshall stays in close to McKinley's body and controls the position. McKinley controls Marshall momentarily but Marshall frees himself. Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out! Marshall cracks McKinley with a solid left hand. And that is the end of the round. The fighters go back to their corners.
Trevor Marshall dominated that second round. OK. That's time! The bell goes and we're back to the action. This is the final round! Marshall tries a head kick but it misses.
The fight stays on the outside here - McKinley looks like he's thinking about clinching though. McKinley fails to land the takedown. Horrible takedown attempt by McKinley or perhaps it was just good defense by Marshall, which made it look bad. Marshall feints and then dives in with a takedown. That was a long way out but the feint bought him enough time to close the distance and complete the takedown. Now we'll play guard for a bit and see who can get the better of that position. Marshall has decided he wants to stand but the closed guard of McKinley is proving hard to escape from. McKinley takes a big intake of breath there - he's definitely tired. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. McKinley trying to keep a closed guard but Marshall is proving a slippery customer.

Marshall tries to free his leg and advance position but McKinley is retaining full guard. The referee must be thinking about standing these guys back up. Marshall is intent on slowing down the pace of the fight, simply looking to control.
The referee has motioned to the fighters to stand back up. Marshall is looking to clinch but McKinley is avoiding it.

That's two minutes gone in the round. The crowd are getting on the fighters' backs, as the pace has dropped off in the last minute or so. Marshall clinches with his opponent.
Marshall tried to land a shot to the body but connects with McKinley's elbow. Marshall is struggling to control the position. Marshall decides to pull guard. Marshall looking for a sweep. Not yet Marshall, not yet. Marshall seems keen to control McKinley's posture. Marshall bucks up whilst keeping hold of a body lock, managing to reverse the position. Now he's in top in McKinley's guard.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Marshall postures up and lands some nice ground and pound. Marshall wants to control from the top but McKinley keeps moving. Marshall looking to pass the guard. Marshall missing there with some ground and pound from the guard. Marshall slows down the pace of the fight for a moment. He'll need to remain active if he doesn't want to see the fight stood back up. Marshall pressing down on his opponent's thigh, looking to pass guard. McKinley is keeping the position for now.
That's four minutes gone in the round. There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action. Marshall would like to get this fight back to the feet but can't get free from the closed guard. Marshall looking to pass the guard. Marshall is trying to work a guillotine from the top, or something like that? Don't know how he thinks he's going to get a finish from there. Joshua McKinley has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here! Marshall tries to free his leg and advance position but McKinley is retaining full guard.

And that's the end of the fight! Trevor Marshall showed his dominance in that final round. Well Marshall has outscored his opponent in every aspect of the fight today. Only a scarily incompetent judge or two will keep him from a well deserved win... Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
