Coming up we have a featherweight MMA rules bout between Magilla Gorilla (ranked 2011 p4p, 2031 weight class) and The Doctor (ranked 169 p4p, 171 weight class). The crowd seem to be enjoying Doctor's choice of entrance music: $uicideboy$ - The Thin Grey Line. Magilla Gorilla has the better chin. Will he look to stand and bang today?

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the featherweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 5 - 3 - 0, fighting out of London, Magilla Gorilla!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 4 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, The Doctor!
The judges for this bout are David Schapiro, Dean Styles and Bruno Lombardi.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Gorilla blocks a jab.
Doctor throws an uppercut from half a mile away. Gorilla sees it coming and avoids it easily.
Doctor throws out a loose jab but Gorilla uses good head movement to avoid it.
Gorilla attempts a counter takedown but Doctor avoids it well and moves away.
Doctor misses the shot to the body.
Gorilla shoots in with a takedown attempt and he has Doctor pinned against the cage. Doctor gets the underhooks and manages to circle away.
Doctor has done a lot of speed work in the buildup to this fight.
Gorilla shoots for a double leg takedown but Doctor sprawls well. He's pushed Gorilla's face into the mat and manages to get back to his feet relatively easily.
Doctor lands a big head kick that sends Gorilla tumbling to the mat! Doctor takes a step backwards and waves Gorilla back to his feet - he wants the finish!
It looks like Magilla Gorilla has been cut.
Gorilla dodges the punch combination from Doctor.

Doctor steps in looking to clinch after the strikes miss from Gorilla.

Doctor tries to score a power double leg takedown but Gorilla sees that one coming and sprawls well. That will dishearten Doctor somewhat.
Gorilla shoots in for a takedown! He's got it and he's managed to land in side control! That's better than Gorilla was expecting from the takedown attempt, I'm sure!
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Gorilla is trying to get an arm triangle but Doctor is defending well.
Gorilla wants to lay and pray for a moment but Doctor keeps working.

Doctor manages to get one leg in to regain half guard.

Gorilla feints and then dives in with a takedown. That was a long way out but the feint bought him enough time to close the distance and complete the takedown. Now we'll play guard for a bit and see who can get the better of that position.
Doctor has a loose triangle. He'll be looking to tighten that up but Gorilla can see exactly what he's planning and manages to posture up and free himself.
Doctor had isolated an arm as going for a kimura. Gorilla defends it easily.

The crowd are showing their displeasure at the lack of action as loud boos ring out around the arena.

Doctor throws an elbow that misses. Gorilla uses the momentum to reverse the position. He's now in Doctor's guard. Nice move by Gorilla!
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Doctor escapes his hips to the side and looks to be working for an armbar. Gorilla gives him a little smile and shakes his head. No chance.

That was a close second round but I would say that Magilla Gorilla will probably get the nod.

A bit of a lull in the action. I'm sure it will pick up again soon... even if the ref has to physically pick them up and put them back on their feet.

Well I reckon that's a shut out for Gorilla, winning every round. Will the judges agree? They are the ones who matter, even if they are often depressingly incompetent. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
