PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Raymond Wynn (ranked 3704 p4p, 4371 weight class) and Billy Jack (ranked 393 p4p, 430 weight class). We have two fighters making their debuts here, so let's see who comes out of this one with their first professional victory.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Raymond Wynn!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Billy Jack!
The judges for this bout are Jorge Garcia, Chad Campbell and Alyssa Summers.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Jack gets cracked with a nice right hand there by Wynn.
Wynn lands a nice hook to Jack's body. Jack takes it in his stride and looks to land his own strikes.

Jack fakes a strike and closes the distance, dragging Wynn to the ground. Jack is now in Wynn's guard.
Jack throws a big right hand that misses.
Jack has the superior BJJ but he's also working some ground strikes into his gameplan.
Jack throwing elbows and punches but not connecting, as Wynn works some decent striking defense from the bottom.

Jack is trying to work a guillotine from the top, or something like that? Don't know how he thinks he's going to get a finish from there.
Wynn is looking to get back to his feet but can't, whilst Jack is controlling him.

Jack drops back for a leg! It's a sloppy attempt though and Jack jumps back into guard quickly, to retain the dominant position.
Jack stops Wynn from standing up.

Jack has gone for a leg lock! Wynn slips out almost immediately though and dives into Jack's guard.

Wynn wants to stand but Jack is controlling his posture from full guard.
Jack bucks up whilst keeping hold of a body lock, managing to reverse the position. Now he's in top in Wynn's guard.


That's one minute gone in the round.
Jack trying to control but Wynn is working from the bottom.
Jack is frustrating his opponent with some stalling tactics from top position.

Jack thinks about going for a leg but decides against it, in order to maintain the position.
Wynn wants to stand and escape but Jack is having none of it.
Jack working from the guard for now, landing some ground and pound.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Jack loading up with the ground and pound but he's missing more than he's landing in this flurry.

Jack thinks about going for a leg but decides against it, in order to maintain the position.
Wynn will need to keep those long limbs tucked in whilst he's on the ground, to prevent any submissions.
Wynn wants to stand and escape but Jack is having none of it.

Jack drops back for a leg! It's a sloppy attempt though and Jack jumps back into guard quickly, to retain the dominant position.
Jack trying to land body shots but he keeps hitting the mat.
Jack working some ground and pound from guard but it's not doing any damage.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
Jack trying to control the position from guard on top but Wynn is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.

Jack is trying to work a guillotine from the top, or something like that? Don't know how he thinks he's going to get a finish from there.
Jack is intent on slowing down the pace of the fight, simply looking to control.
Jack wants to control from the top but Wynn keeps moving.
Wynn wants to get back to his feet but Jack is in a dominant position and won't allow it.
Jack throwing shots from guard but he's hitting more mat than opponent.
Jack throwing strikes from guard but Wynn blocks nicely.
Wynn wants to stand up but Jack is controlling him.

The ref stands the fighters back up due to a lack of activity.

That's three minutes gone in the round.

Wynn gets tackled into the cage by Jack. Jack maintains the clinch.
Jack is trying to pull guard but being pressed up against the cage enables Wynn to keep the fight standing.
Jack prevents Wynn from breaking the clinch.
Jack can't find room to land a body shot as Wynn controls the action.
Wynn stalling.

Jack has managed to pull guard. Let's see whether he can work an aggressive guard. It will also be interesting to see what tactics Wynn uses from the top position.

Jack is looking to cinch up a triangle. Wynn throws the leg off to one side though and gets in tight to Jack's body to avoid the submission. Jack has instead reached around Wynn's neck and now has a guillotine! Oh, this is biiiig trouble! Jack arches his back and squeezes and forces the tap from his hapless opponent.

Ladies and gentlemen, after 3:45 of round 1, we have a winner by way of Submission (Guillotine). Billy Jack!
