Coming up we have a featherweight MMA rules bout between Antonio Rivera (ranked 2373 p4p, 3612 weight class) and Nikolas Conner (ranked 196 p4p, 277 weight class). Both fighters will be looking to make this an exciting fight for the fans, I'm sure!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the featherweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 7 - 7 - 0, fighting out of Hilo, Antonio Rivera!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 4 - 7 - 0, fighting out of Helsinki, Nikolas Conner!
The judges for this bout are Daniel Bishop, Sam Margolis and Phil Schofield.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Rivera shoots for a takedown but Conner saw that one coming a mile off and avoided it easily.
Rivera shoots in but doesn't get the takedown

and Conner counters by moving into the clinch. Good anticipation by Conner.
Conner working on landing some head shots here - that one got through nicely.
Conner lands a hook to the side of the head.
Conner throws a punch but it's blocked by Rivera.
Conner gets underhooks to prevent Rivera's takedown attempt.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Antonio Rivera. That's going to take a lot out of him.

We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Rivera blocks a punch to the side of the head.
Conner struggles to land a body shot inside as Rivera controls his hands.

Rivera drops down for a takedown but doesn't get it.

The crowd are getting on Conner's back here. They're not happy about his lack of aggression in the clinch.

Rivera shoots in looking for a double leg takedown. Conner defends it nicely.
Rivera tries for a takedown but Conner sees it coming a mile off and avoids it easily.
Conner has worked on his takedown defense in the runup to this fight and it is paying off so far.
Nikolas Conner is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs.

Conner moves into the clinch.
Conner misses with the head strike.
Nice body punch from Conner - that landed with a thud.
Conner has a couple of punches blocked by Rivera.

Rivera blocks a knee to the body. He'll have a nicely bruised forearm in the morning.
Conner makes some space for himself and lands an uppercut.

Rivera blocks an elbow strike.
Conner has Rivera pushed against the cage.
A bit of stalling here from Conner.
Rivera tries for a takedown. No joy.

Conner scores with an uppercut up the middle.
Conner has Rivera pressed against the cage.
Conner lands a short shot on the inside that snaps the head of Rivera backwards.
Conner creates a bit of space for himself and sneaks an elbow through Rivera's defenses.
Conner swings wildly with an uppercut but Rivera uses good head movement to avoid it.
Conner stalling against the cage.
The crowd thankful this round is nearly over.
Conner throws a head punch that misses.
And that is the end of the round. The fighters go back to their corners.

Nikolas Conner dominated that round.
That's time! Back to the action!

Rivera circles away from the clinch attempt.
Rivera half commits to a counter takedown before pushing away, out of range.
Conner misses with a leg kick

and Rivera counters with a nice double leg into side control. Conner won't be happy with that.

Rivera wants to work for a kimura but he's foiled early by Conner, who protects the arm well.

Rivera is working for what looks like an arm triangle here. Conner is trying to escape and Rivera transitions quickly into an armbar! He's slapped it on tight and Conner is forced to tap! Nice work there by Rivera! Very nice indeed!
