Coming up we have a featherweight MMA rules bout between I Was Trained by (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Samoa Joe (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Trained by kept the crowd waiting but all that was forgotten when his ring entrance music started. The incomparable musical genius that is Warriors of the World. Samoa Joe has the better chin. Will he look to stand and bang today?

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the featherweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
3 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, I Was Trained by! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
4 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Samoa Joe! The judges for this bout are Daniel Franklin, Cecil Peabody and Robert Twigg.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Joe walks forward and throws out a flicking leg kick. Trained by checks it nicely though, as he moves to the side. Joe decides to change it up a bit and drives through with a nice takedown into half guard. Trained by scrambles, trying to get to his feet, but Joe manages to mount him!
Joe controlling the pace for now.
That's one minute gone in the round. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Joe's corner are shouting for him to control the position and he seems happy to oblige.
That's two minutes gone in the round. My god... these two guys really need to pick up the pace or everyone will leave to go get a beer.
Despite being in the dominant position, Samoa Joe just isn't active enough and the referee decides to stand the fighters back up. Joe shoots in from a long way out. He's driving through with the takedown attempt and he eventually gets it, landing in Trained by's guard. Joe is taking a break and basically stalling. The referee will not allow him to do that for long. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Trained by is looking for a guillotine. You can't force these things though and Joe defends well.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Joe slows down the pace of the fight for a moment. He'll need to remain active if he doesn't want to see the fight stood back up. Joe tries to free his leg and advance position but Trained by is retaining full guard. Joe in full guard, throwing the ground and pound. No damage this time. Joe wants to get up but he can't break Trained by's closed guard. He needs to be careful trying to break the legs open, as he's open to submissions here. Trained by looking to sweep using the butterfly guard but Joe puts pay to that idea as he passes nicely into half guard.
That's four minutes gone in the round. My god... these two guys really need to pick up the pace or everyone will leave to go get a beer. Trained by wants to control but Joe is keeping busy and won't allow it. Trained by looking for submissions from an awkward position here. Joe keeping composed on the top, looking to control the action. Trained by pushes Joe off looking to stand but Joe dives back in and keeps control.
The crowd thankful this round is nearly over. Joe trying to mount his opponent but Trained by defends it. Neither fighter is being very active at the moment, with Joe in particular looking to stall. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Samoa Joe dominated that round. The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action.
Joe changes levels and drives through with a really nice takedown into side control. Trained by looks really pissed at himself for not defending that better. Trained by gives up the full mount - oops, sloppy defensive grappling there! Joe content just to control the position here. Joe landing strikes from the mount and Trained by is in trouble!
That's one minute gone in the round. Trained by is working to get back to half guard.

That's two minutes gone in the round.

Joe showed some decent athleticism there. Joe controlling the pace. Joe lands strikes from half guard. Joe is taking a breather. Trained by says something to him but it's hard to make out. Perhaps he's telling him to get on with it and actually do something.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Joe looks towards his corner to check for any instructions. The corner give him nothing to work with, so he cracks Trained by with a short hammerfist. I guess that's as good as any advice he could get in this position. Joe trying to advance position but Trained by counters by regaining guard.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it. Trained by is working from a closed guard but he's struggling to control his opponent. Joe stands and steps away. Trained by gets to his feet too and we're back to the striking game. Trained by tries for a takedown but Joe circles away easily and Joe counters with an inside leg kick. Joe ducks down and throws a hook to the body but Trained by moves away. Joe shoots in for a takedown and gets it. Joe perhaps working for something from half guard, or maybe not. It looks like he's just sitting there. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Samoa Joe showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards. That's time! Back to the action! This is the final round!
Joe just misses with a punch to the body.
Trained by fails with the takedown and Joe counters with a single leg into guard. Trained by didn't expect that. There's a bit of a scramble here and now Trained by is on top in guard.
Trained by wants to pass the guard but Joe is keeping the position. Joe is looking to stand up but Trained by isn't so interested in that idea. Joe thows some rabbit punches from the bottom but they don't do any damage. Joe manages to escape and get back to his feet.
That's one minute gone in the round. Joe is looking for a takedown here. He's shot in and has managed to get it, finishing up in Trained by's half guard. Joe performing his best blanket impression for a moment. Trained by has one foot on Joe's thigh - he pushes off and manages to get back to his feet. Joe closes the distance and looks for a trip takedown... aaaand he's got it - Joe lands in his opponent's guard. Joe gets to his feet and steps away from his opponent.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Trained by doesn't succeed with the takedown so Joe counters with a double leg into guard. Good agility. Trained by being controlled here, momentarily. This has been an exciting period of action!
That's three minutes gone in the round. Joe scoring with some ground and pound. Joe content to stall in guard here. Trained by throws a couple of weedy looking strikes off his back.
That's four minutes gone in the round. A few boos can be heard. I'm sure they will multiply if the fighters don't pick up the pace. Joe showing good wrestling skills to control the position. Joe stands up and waves to Trained by to follow him. Trained by closes the distance but Joe moves to the side and Joe cracks him with a counter punch right on the button. Joe dances in quickly and lands a nice inside leg kick on Trained by. That did some damage! I Was Trained by has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here! Trained by fakes high and swings low for a body shot but Joe manages to avoid it. Joe scores a takedown into full mount!
And that's the end of the fight! Samoa Joe comfortably won the final round on my scorecard. Well Joe has outworked and out performed his opponent in all aspects of the game today. He was simply too good and the decision should be no more than a formality. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
