Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Jason Gates (ranked 1419 p4p, 3611 weight class) and Jordan Jacobs (ranked 178 p4p, 392 weight class). Gates comes to the cage accompanied by Fever Ray - If I Had A Heart. The crowd seem to be enjoying Jacobs's choice of entrance music: Pressure-Rushy. Both fighters look fresh as a daisy as they make their way towards the cage.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, for the welterweight championship of the world! Introducing the champion to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of 5 - 1 - 0, fighting out of London, Jason Gates! And introducing the challenger to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of 5 - 1 - 0, fighting out of London, Jordan Jacobs! The judges for this bout are Andrew Berry, William Gold and Donald Grub.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Jacobs fakes with an overhand right and moves in to clinch with Gates, pushing him back against the cage. Jacobs wants to break free. God knows he wants to breaaaak freeee. Jacobs breaks the clinch.
Gates shoots in but no luck this time. Jacobs throws a poor cross that misses
and Gates counters with a driving takedown into guard. Nice work there by Gates. Gates prevents Jacobs from getting back to his feet. Gates working some ground and pound from guard but it's not doing any damage. Gates prevents Jacobs from getting back to his feet. Gates tries to free his leg and advance position but Jacobs is retaining full guard. Gates with a flurry of punches that miss. Gates stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Jacobs swivels though and keeps the full guard. Gates drops back looking for a leg! Jacobs is in trouble here! The fighters roll with the hold and Jacobs manages to kick Gates off! Gates jumps back into Jacobs's guard. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Gates pressing down on his opponent's thigh, looking to pass guard. Jacobs is keeping the position for now. Gates trying to control but Jacobs is working from the bottom.
That's one minute gone in the round. Gates stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Jacobs swivels though and keeps the full guard. Gates is working hard here to advance position. Gates thinks about going for a leg but decides against it, in order to maintain the position. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Jacobs can't keep his opponent in guard - Gates advances to half guard, no doubt looking to mount. Gates is pressing down on Jacobs's thigh, looking to free his foot. Jacobs is holding on for now. Gates trying to control the action but Jacobs is working from the bottom. Gates wants to work for an arm triangle but Jacobs is really keeping half guard well and defending the submission attempt.

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. The fighters are starting to perspire pretty heavily. Gates wants to pass the guard but Jacobs is defending well.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Gates maintaining the dominant position here and is working for a kimura. He's locked it up! Jacobs could be in real trouble here! He's trying to wriggle out but Gates has cracked it and Jacobs is screaming in pain - he's tapped out! Great finish by Gates!
