Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Alessandro Padrilo (ranked 2563 p4p, 3642 weight class) and Alex Newman (ranked 296 p4p, 396 weight class). Newman is bouncing up and down as he enters the arena, backed by Enter Sandman. Alessandro Padrilo is staring across the cage at his opponent, tweaking his nipples... Tweaking his own nipples that is.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of 4 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Alessandro Padrilo! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of 4 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Alex Newman! The judges for this bout are Chris Edwards, James Ackerman and James Atkins.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Newman fails with a rather predictable takedown attempt. Newman tries a head kick but it misses.
Padrilo tries to clinch but Newman is having none of it. Newman slips a jab and a cross from Padrilo.
Newman shoots in for a takedown but Padrilo shows good takedown defense. Padrilo shoots in for a takedown - he's clinched up with Newman but Newman pushes him off and we're back to square one. Newman closes this distance looking for a takedown but Padrilo circles away. Alessandro Padrilo has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Alex Newman. Padrilo shoots in and gets a takedown into Newman's guard. Newman has managed to wall walk up one of the corner posts to get back to his feet. Padrilo is pushing him up against the cage, looking to control the position. Padrilo breaks the clinch and we return to the middle of the mat. The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so! Newman tries to shoot in for a takedown. He's got hold of a leg but Padrilo swivels and escapes. Padrilo takes the fight into the clinch.
That's one minute gone in the round. Padrilo breaks the clinch and we return to the middle of the mat. Newman goes for a double leg but Padrilo avoids the attempt and the two fighters end up clinched against the cage as Padrilo continues to drive forward. Nice takedown defense from Padrilo. No joy for Newman on that attempt. As Newman looks to move away, Padrilo throws a big counter combo but Newman just gets out of the way. Newman shoots for a double leg takedown but Padrilo sprawls well. He's pushed Newman's face into the mat and manages to get back to his feet relatively easily. Padrilo attempts a counter takedown but Newman avoids it well and moves away. Padrilo closes the distance and pushes Newman back into the cage. Padrilo throws a vicious knee straight up the middle but Newman blocks it with crossed arms. Padrilo fails to pull the fight into his guard.
Padrilo tries to pull guard but can't drag his opponent to the mat. Newman just stands there and leans against the cage. Newman managing to block the knees to the body from Padrilo.
Newman jumps guard but Padrilo turns him against the cage and keeps the fight standing. Padrilo breaks the clinch and we return to the middle of the mat.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Padrilo has managed to clinch.
Newman prevents a takedown attempt there.
Newman goes for a takedown attempt but Padrilo pushes him away and we're back to fighting at a distance.
Newman's corner calls for a 1, 2 combination and Newman duly obliges. Padrilo tries to close the distance and clinch up against the cage but Newman paws at him with a jab and circles away. Padrilo sets himself, and Newman steps forward looking for the clinch! Padrilo avoids it this time. Padrilo has a takedown stuffed. Padrilo moves into range and clinches up with Newman.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Newman is trying to pull guard but Padrilo turns him against the cage and we stay in the clinch. Padrilo has managed to pull guard. Let's see whether he can work an aggressive guard. It will also be interesting to see what tactics Newman uses from the top position. Newman would like to get this fight back to the feet but can't get free from the closed guard. Padrilo is working actively from the bottom, looking for submissions. He's escaped his hips to the side and he's going for an armbar! Newman has his hands clasped together but Padrilo extends and breaks Newman's desperate grasp, forcing a tap out due to armbar! Nice BJJ displayed there by Padrilo.
