Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 6 - 4 - 0, fighting out of New York, Fred Jose!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 4 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Chuck Lassiter!
The judges for this bout are Colin Fotheringham, Andrew Berry and Chris Edwards.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Lassiter clinches up with Jose and pushes him back against the cage.

Lassiter jumps guard and drags Jose to the mat. He's obviously going to be looking for submissions off his back.
Lassiter has Jose pulled in close to control his posture.
Jose looking to sit in guard and control but Lassiter gets the butterfly guard and sweeps. He's now in the guard on the top.

Jose is working from a closed guard but he's struggling to control his opponent.
Jose working the defensive guard well to avoid strikes from Lassiter.
Lassiter postures up and scores with a shot to the body and a follow up elbow to the head.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Jose keeping moving, preventing Lassiter from controlling successfully.
Jose can't keep his opponent in guard - Lassiter advances to half guard, no doubt looking to mount.
Jose wants to get back to his feet.

Lassiter seems content to maintain position for now, rather than mounting any offense.

Jose is staying active underneath Lassiter, who seems content to just control the action from this position.

Lassiter is nestled in close to Jose, controlling him well. He's worked in a nice elbow to the side of the head as well, for good measure.

Lassiter working some ground and pound from close in. He's looking to maintain this position and strike for a while by the looks of things... although he'll probably advance to full mount in a minute now I've said that.

Lassiter looks towards his corner to check for any instructions. The corner give him nothing to work with, so he cracks Jose with a short hammerfist. I guess that's as good as any advice he could get in this position.

The fighters are starting to get a bit slippery now, which will make submissions a bit more difficult.
Lassiter seems to be taking a bit of a break to think of his next move. He lands a short punch in the meantime.
Lassiter is scoring with some nice ground and pound from the dominant position.
Jose really does look like a pencil wearing a pair of gloves. Let's hope he has a gameplan to suit that ridiculous body shape.

Jose is looking to regain full guard. Not this time though.

Lassiter seems to be taking a bit of a break to think of his next move. He lands a short punch in the meantime.
Lassiter is working hard to pass the guard. He's done it - he's now in full mount! Trouble for Jose!

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Lassiter controlling the position easily from mount.
Jose seems to have got his legs back now.
Lassiter loads up with a big shot that hurts Jose! He's pulled Lassiter in close but Lassiter has postured up and lands more strikes. Can Jose survive? More strikes from Lassiter and Jose is out! The ref jumps in to save him! Brutal ground and pound!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 4:27 of round 1, we have a winner by way of KO (Strikes). Chuck Lassiter!
