Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, for the light heavyweight championship of the world!
Introducing the champion to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 9 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Fu Li!
And introducing the challenger to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 5 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Alejandro Ortega!
The judges for this bout are Shirou Masuda, Yukihiro Yamamoto and Yukihiro Shimada.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Both fighters are only really looking to counter, so after a good 30 seconds of circling each other endlessly, the referee has stepped in and told them both to be more aggressive.
Li slaps away a takedown attempt from Ortega, before circling back to the center of the mat.
Li attempts a counter takedown but Ortega avoids it well and moves away.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Ortega misses with a takedown
and Li counters with a takedown into side control.
That's one minute gone in the round.
Ortega parries the strikes from Li easily there. Li is wary of posturing up too much because it might enable Ortega to escape.
Ortega is trying to get back to half guard.
The strikes coming from Li are missing the target in this wave of attacks.
Li lands an elbow.
Ortega dodges the ground and pound from Li.
Ortega throwing some weak shots from the bottom that do no damage.
Ortega tries to strike but it doesn't land.
Ortega has the superior BJJ but he's also working some ground strikes into his gameplan.
Li scores with a couple of short elbows.
Li knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Ortega on the ground.

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Li is looking to take a break and control but Ortega is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
You can see the frustration on Ortega's face, being in this tough position on the bottom.
Ortega manages to get one leg in to regain half guard.

Li landing with strikes to the body and head, softening up his opponent.

Li unloads with some huge strikes here! Ortega is out! Li wins by brutal knockout!
