Coming up we have a bantamweight MMA rules bout between Levan Kapanadze (ranked 4534 p4p, 3831 weight class) and Trevor Webel (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Kapanadze's entrance music is Gandagana. A fine choice. Levan Kapanadze is staring across the cage at his opponent, tweaking his nipples... Tweaking his own nipples that is.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the bantamweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of 0 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Levan Kapanadze! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of New York, Trevor Webel! The judges for this bout are Felipe Paraventi, Matheus Silva and Mauricio Rocha.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Kapanadze with a jab. Kapanadze throws a head kick that looked like it stung.
Kapanadze gets a clinch. Webel wants to break free but Kapanadze has control.

Webel has a loose triangle. He'll be looking to tighten that up but Kapanadze can see exactly what he's planning and manages to posture up and free himself. Kapanadze is holding a leg here, probably looking for an ankle lock - he drops back and goes for it! Webel is in trouble! Is it all over??? No! Webel has escaped and now he's on top! Kapanadze looking to control.

Webel tries to jump guard but he falls flat on his backside. Kapanadze smiles and moves away.

Webel looks frustrated there after his takedown attempt is stuffed easily. Kapanadze feinted with a counter takedown. Webel displaying good standup as he scores with a three punch combination. Kapanadze wants to clinch. Kapanadze looks to have improved his striking defense since last time we saw him fight. Kapanadze wants to clinch. Kapanadze has closed the distance and engaged Webel in a clinch.

Kapanadze is trying to work for a single leg takedown but Webel pulls him back up using the underhooks. Webel is trying to push Kapanadze away but Kapanadze has him pressed against the cage, so he's going nowhere. Webel pulls Kapanadze into guard.

Webel escapes his hips to the side and looks to be working for an armbar. Kapanadze gives him a little smile and shakes his head. No chance. Kapanadze is really dominating this fight. Is there anything that Webel can do to turn this around? Kapanadze sitting in guard, not really doing much.

Kapanadze had isolated an arm as going for a kimura. Webel defends it easily. Webel content to stall in guard here. Kapanadze pushes Webel off and scrambles back to his feet.

letting Webel counter with a right hand. Kapanadze clinches up with Webel and pushes him back against the cage. Webel dodges an elbow strike from Kapanadze.

Webel tries to shoot in for a takedown. He's got hold of a leg but Kapanadze swivels and escapes. Kapanadze appears to be looking for a big counter. Webel fails with the takedown and Kapanadze counters with a one-two to the body. This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff! The crowd thankful this round is nearly over. Kapanadze clinches. Kapanadze pushes off and circles away, back to the middle of the mat. No luck with that takedown attempt from Kapanadze. And that is the end of the round. The fighters go back to their corners.

Let's see if either fighter can bring us a finish, or whether we're going to the judges scorecards. Webel feints a jab promting Kapanadze to slip. Webel then demonstrates his capabilities by jabbing again. Kapanadze slips again and ducks right into an uppercut. Kapanadze throws a head kick that misses and slips in the process. He scrambles back to his feet and the fighters circle. Kapanadze has a takedown stuffed. Webel drives through and clinches with Kapanadze against the cage.

No joy there for Kapanadze, who threw a few shots but didn't land.
Despite the aggression on Webel's face he doesn't fully commit to the counter. Webel throws a sloppy head kick and Kapanadze counters with a head kick. Jab, cross, leg kick. Nice combination by Kapanadze!

That's one minute gone in the round. Kapanadze punishes Webel's body with a nice straight punch. The fight stays on the outside here - Kapanadze looks like he's thinking about clinching though. Webel seems to have recovered his senses. Webel shoots in for a takedown. "I don't think so" says Kapanadze as he avoids it easily. Levan Kapanadze has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Trevor Webel. Webel takes a big intake of breath there - he's definitely tired. Sloppy strikes from Webel. Those never looked like landing. A jab from Webel misses. Kapanadze turns his hip over beautifully as he lands a nice leg kick. Kapanadze avoids the clinch attempt nicely.

Kapanadze is trying to drag Webel to the mat but Webel just about manages to keep his footing. He used the cage to his advantage there. The pace slowing considerably in the clinch, as Kapanadze takes a break from that fighting nonsense to think about the finer things in life. Webel is pressed up against the cage. Kapanadze has hold of a leg and is looking to drag Webel down to the mat. Webel avoids the attempt though and has circled away. We're back to striking at a distance. A head kick from Kapanadze lands but Webel takes it in his stride. The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here. Webel goes for a double leg but Kapanadze avoids the attempt and the two fighters end up clinched against the cage as Kapanadze continues to drive forward. Kapanadze appears to be looking for a counter takedown.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Nice takedown defense from Kapanadze. No joy for Webel on that attempt. Kapanadze connects with a solid leg kick. Webel gets a clinch. Kapanadze with an attempt at a knee that misses.
Kapanadze is trying to slow down the pace of the fight but Webel is keeping busy. Some stalling of biblical proportions here from Kapanadze. Kapanadze lands a shoulder strike that jolts his opponent's head backwards. Kapanadze landing knees to the body.

Webel shoots in for a double leg but Kapanadze sprawls well. That's going to sap some energy. Kapanadze lands a jab. Then a cross. Then finally a nice hook to the body. Good work there by Kapanadze. Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd. Kapanadze takes the fight into the clinch. Kapanadze with the Thai clinch, lands a knee to the head. Kapanadze pushes off and circles away, back to the middle of the mat. Trevor Webel has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here! Levan Kapanadze is fighting for a decision here - he's started to take the cautious approach. Levan Kapanadze is winning the standup battle so far. That's a knee to de groin and it's over and out! Webel crumples to the ground after an illegal strike from Kapanadze - the referee stops the clock and Webel gets 5 minutes to recover from that one. "I'm sorry" says Kapanadze. Webel manages to get back to his feet and the fight resumes.
And that's the end of the fight! Levan Kapanadze showed his dominance in that final round. Well I reckon that's a shut out for Kapanadze, winning every round. Will the judges agree? They are the ones who matter, even if they are often depressingly incompetent. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
